Incorporating weight training with MMA

Wondering if everyone here works with weights in the same manner as body builders would? Meaning, for instance, chest/tri's, back/bi's, legs, shoulder all on separate days of the week along with sparring and cardio? What changes does anyone have pre fight? I always use the great training video of Wanderlei Silva on YT for motivation, and wondered whether, during his circuit training when he's running from one excersise to another, if these are examples of one day that will change to the next. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear what people have learned through trial and error over the years. Thanks in advance.

as far as weight training goes, when i was getting ready for a competition..... i did 1 fullbody workout per week.... mostly squats and presses.... or cleans and jerks, depending on how i felt........ usually just alternated weeks....

i would add a weighted "cadio" workout about twice a week.... that would consist of dumbbell burpees and jumprope.... or punchouts/kickouts and something else with dbs....

the rest of my time was dedicated to skill work and sparring

IME... following the main site crossfit workouts is not the best idea..... SOME of the workouts ARE awesome but fighters should not follow the main site daily.... pick and choose for your needs and ability....

yoga would be awesome tho....

I would switch to muscle group a day workouts, if I need to gain weight. Right now I try to train the whole body as a unit, which is how it works when you fight.
