I have no need for it... I barely have time to spread it around.

so here is the deal... I will give 10,000k to whom ever can woo me with something they have recently done that impacted someones life. An act of selflessness, generosity, love, hospitality, etc... you get the pt and if you don't............. Leave the room.

I'll share my story... Just recently I went to one of those dollar stores to grab some trash bags, its right around the corner from my house. There was this little old lady walking with a walker at the register. She was purchasing a few items but couldn't get all she wanted due to not enough money and having to walk all the way home with said items. I kindly asked her where she was headed, and to my Amazement this woman had walked over 3 miles to get to the store and would have to walk back.

I'm not one to pick up strangers, by no means but i just felt horrible for her. I offered her a ride and paid for her groceries, to my astonishment she accepted (guess I look innocent and trustworthy) I also went and bought her and her husband whom was handicapp and in a wheel chair, supper. Dropped her off and had a great conversation with her. I've since been back to visit her, she has no electricity, her water was recently cut off and not to mention living in one of the most horrible area's in our city (drug's crime... etc)

awwwwwwww....that is sweet.

let's see. my secretary's little girl (age 11) LOVES me and always wants to come spend the night with me, etc. So, I hired a babysitter on Saturday and paid for her to attend a scrapbooking event with me. She loves to scrapbook, too.
 
Save your karma and find an agency in your area that works with old people....help her out a little more.


That shit makes me want to kill a couple of hundred immigrants to help save the elderly who need the financial help
 
i donate approx 8-10hrs a week to habitat for humanity. I think everybody should be able to own a new home sometime in there life. I love how the people aren't just given the home, just the opportunity at great financing options that otherwise woudln't allow them to have a nice new home. The look on their face is priceless when we hand over the keys

note: all homes we've done so far the new owners have been there to help as much as possible, so they aren't lazy asses either!

The ones who receive SSI payments due to refugee status. Drives me fuggin nuts to see elderly struggling while people who have never paid into the system receiving benefits...

wow.. ok, in the last 2 years i have sold my business, provided 2 days a week to daycare my 2 grand kids, got a reversal so my younger wife could have her 1st child, and continued to provide daycare, he's almost 1 yr old now, i wouldn't change it for the world. I was the executor of my mom's estate after caring for her during her final weeks with lung cancer, and thank goodness it all went fine without a lot of drama with family members.

I think i'm going to take the next couple of years to redefine myself, while i rebuild my 401K..
 
that's some impressive shit, I haven't done anything lately like that. In a week or so, I'll start to go through and fix the bikes, trikes and other toys that Wal-Mart drops off at my warehouse during the year. I think there's, well, I go countem.
There's 20 bikes, 2 trycycles and a wagon. I and a couple of other guys will fix the ones we can and give them to a local store called The Samaritan House. They give them away at X-mas to the kids whose parents need food, clothes and toys, been doing that for years.
 
I do the norm... I tithe, help out family and friend as much as I can. Around the hurricane (katrina) there was a family that was sent here to our city. Just so happend I was in WalMart and this lady and her three kids were in line behind me and I could hear her talking about her loss, and the fact that she and her husband were seperated, she had no money, no food besides the shelter food, no clothing besides what they were wearing and she was spending her last few dollars on undergarments for her and the kids. I didn't really lose much, nothing that I couldn't replace and I was in a much better positon than she was, she had what looked like a 6mt old baby and two other kids that were elem grade at the most.

I didn't talk to her, nor introduce myself. After I checked out I took all the cash out of my wallet and (beigns I personally knew the teller) I gave it to her and asked her to give it to the lady Anonymously to get clothes, food, diapers, etc...

I lost alot of weight, and with it went tons of muscle... blah, I need to get back to the basics again and build, I want to compete next year but I don't have the density I need for cutting. So sux's sweaty balls...

I just gots another new cut, and its black now... However this dye and cut took a turn for the worse, color is beautiful and cut is ehh... ok, but terrible reaction to the chemicals... Yea, ER here I come. I am still in pain due to chemical burns. Damn the bad luck.

I'll have to get a pic up here of the new do! I don't have a good one just a shot with my phone infront my face thats on my phone taken for a friend that lives out in Florida. It was looking kina rough that day too... I was running around like crazy.

Solidworks is the shizzle... I loved working in it, I'd go off on a tangent sometimes and make some wicked things. I however took a little change in my career. I decided it was time to do something different, so I am now in the estimating field. Still oilfield but quite a bit different. I have to deal with other peeps drawings, which lemme tell ya... some are horrible.

I never got in to 2008, but for the most part its a little added here and there, was always there but just had to know how to find that option. They tweak some functions, and placement of icons. FYI, don't download a patch until close to the next years release, SPO.0 - at least .04 is a test.. and will totally screw up your assemblies. Errors out the ass and...

I'd love to see some of your work. You can write your files to .jpeg format.

I kinda miss the whole unique aspect of it, but 8 years of it and i was getting burned out. I'll prolly get back in there one day though.

I've been cleaning up drawings that fuckfaces made which are just completely terrible.

Seems like I'm the only guy that does it, the other engineers are off dicking around and tinkering with stuff - it makes me kind of mad that I'm stuck cleaning up other people's trash.

We designed, built, and put into a production an instrument within 18 months, all designed in solidworks. There's probably 1000 unique parts in this instrument. I'll show you some pics.

We havent even migrated to solidworks 2008. Since we're an FDA audited company we have to use huge risk assessments to mitigate risks like moving to new software. We usually wait until the second service pack is released.

Look forward to seeing them... You can also upload with eDrawing. To my knowledge you can't roll back in solidworks, there for there is no opening a 08 with an 06 version, forcing the enduser to have to update if they are dealing with customers in a higher version (little catch 22)

Yea, I was that go to peep also... drove me nuts when I opened up a drawing or an assembly and had tons of constraint errors... I wanted to go postal on those morons. LOL

I would also recommend waiting till past SP.02 to update, basically you become the feed back for what has gone wrong, and if all models and assemblies are not done and constrained properly... bam there goes the drawing and assemblie. HEADACHE

I wanted to attend the class in Orlando for graphics, color, lighting and all that fancy stuff... but we just didn't have time for me to be away that long. I played with all of it on my own and was sucessful, but would have been better if taught the proper way.

Yes we use PDMworks. We have shared licenses for the premium - a couple since we're all not doing stress analysis all the time. We run XP 64. Our machines are quad cores with 11gb of memory and quadro FX4500 video cards. We've seen our model eat up 5gb of ram when loading the top level!

Our most senior guy can have the coolest shit modeled up in a day, complex concepts and stuff. He made an excel spreadsheet with a taylor series polynomial expansion approximating a sine curve to drive a stepper motor for the main drive system. Dude is like 70 too. He ALWAYS misses detail stuff. ALWAYS. I have to go in and make sure the model always fits right, no holes are off concentricity etc. It gets annoying.

We run some stress analysis on individual piece components, but most of the time its not an issue. We would like a solution to modeling fluid flows within the system. We have a complicated fluid delivery system thats based off our empirical knowledge of the system.

Slap him behind the head and tell him no matter how beautiful his model is, if its not constrained right its a piece of shit! LOL

Some of our top level even when set to feather weight would bog down our systems, then everything would lock up. We went thru the PDM class but never implemented it (which was stupid) I would have people changing my custom part to fit there design (my damn boss for one) and not doing a save as copy and bam it would update in my assembly and then my whole assembly was off. (nice.. lol)

I used the Vault system with Inventor, same consept and I really liked it because You couldn't make a change with out permission and checking out that part. There were some down falls like when working with an engineer and he forgets to check the parts and assemblies back in... goof ...

What specifically do you guys design?

Ok, now you have me wanting to switch back to 3d design and drafting... LOL
 
damn... I guess i need to retire this one... what the hell 10 k is like a 1k khit now adays, what was I thinking
