DC Training has been proven to work, end of story there. However, for size nothing seems to come of it unless 2gP/lb-BW is consumed daily, whereas other routines produce size gains without the consumption of so much protein.

Do you think the only reason it is effective is because of the intense amount of food taken in, and the same result can be achieved with other programs assuming intensity is still used, but possbily divided?
 
I think you are over analyzing and assuming an 'all else being equal situation' that does not exist.

I personally think that 2g/pound is way overkill. I think the success is more due to the vastly increased calories associated with so much protein than the mere protein itself.
 
i agree with casualbb. It has to be the calories from the protein, not the protein itself. I think even if you are eating "only" 200 grams of protein a day (assuming you weigh 200lbs) as long as your calories are up from foods you are going to grow. I follow dc training and i got a lot bigger quickly, but also put on fat like never before.
