Yes, unless it's the boot drive. If that's the case, you'll need to image the drive and transfer it to a similar drive.
If it's just storing files...just copy the stuff over before it shits the bed.
BTW, I meant to ask you if you use Canon or Nikon. I'm gonna plunk down some $$ on a nice zoom lens.
I use Canon. Canon tilts towards red which is lower in noise. Nikon tilts towards blue which is full of noise. But complain about excessive redness more.
So you could say Canon is selling out to the lab tests instead of the human eye.
I plan to get the newer 28- 105mm F-4 image stabilized L series lens. The 24-70 F-2.8 is just too damned heavy for hand holding all day. I realized this after a couple years.
IS (image stabilization) is a great friend of the hand help camera shooting at speeds slower than 1/100 of a second. People vary in how steady their hand is but we all move at inopportune times...sometimes.
The 28-135 IS lens is a good buy, and quite versatile, in my opinion. Not being an L lens however, it is not a primo lens for focusing in very dark rooms. I mean very dark.
The 70-200 F-4 is a sharp L series that is also light weight and affordably priced. I like it.
The 17-40 F-4 L series has focusing problems. Especially when shooting in the vertical format. So it can suck pretty bad for group shots. I quit using it.
The IS L lens that cover huge ranges (28-300) or (100-400) are just real heavy. But oh so versatile.
I love IS. It helps more than it hurts 100% of the time unless you are using a tripod.
