The dilation and curettage procedure is called a D&C. The D stands for dilation, which means enlarging. Curettage (the C) means scraping. Together, this procedure involves expanding or enlarging the entrance of a woman’s uterus so that a thin, sharp instrument can scrape or suction away the lining of the uterus and take tissue samples.

Today, the procedure is routine and considered safe. It is minor surgery performed in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center or clinic. D&C is usually a diagnostic procedure and seldom is therapeutic. It may stop bleeding for a little while (2-6 months), then the prior abnormal bleeding tends to return.

Don't know a single girl who has had it done. Sorry.

oh damn. well, hey, what friggin sense is there in worrying? you gotta do it, so just take it like a woman. no big deal.

dont listen to him, you shouldnt cry and be hysterical. what friggin sense is there in worrying? you gotta do it, and you have our support

A d&c is a dilation and cutterage (sp?). Basically, it's a female thing. It is very common. Don't worry, DaisyD, especially if it's being done to get rid of early endo. My girlfriend had it done due to endo and scar tissue buildup from fibroids. It is uncomfortable, like a really bad cramp. You'll be sore for a few days, but it will get better. Good luck!

Why?

It has been my experience that the vast majority of the ef brolyhood did very well in their sensitivity classes.

And it shows here. :rose:

ahh ok, cuz theres a personal trainer there i once saw who looks alot like ur avatar. kk, take good care.

Sorry to hear about the miscarriage. Just look at this as an optomistic opportunity to clean up shop and make your woman parts nice and ready for perhaps another try. :rose:

im sorry to hear about your miscarriage and need for this surgery, daisy

try not to worry about it, mentally it is a really invasive procedure, but itll be over before you know it and the recovery is fine

dont listen to soklu, the reason hers was so traumatic is because they have to go over the whole thing to get rid of cobwebs, and caused a lot of damage. that girl always does things the hard way

youl be ok. just try not worry about it so much. itll be over before you know it.

sorry to hear about the miscARIAGE

I think that's different though....this is more serious than a flirt.

Chic here who's had it done. Did you miscarry? For the guys who don't know (and care to) the most common reason for it is a miscarriage. And daisy don't be scared. It's painless and takes all of 5-10 minutes. You're out the entire time. You might have minor bleeding after (much like a menstral cycle) but may not experience any at all. If you miscarried...you might experience mild cramping...but they'll give you and rx for that. No worries at all. Just no heavy lifting, running, jumping, strenuous stuff....no sex, douche, tampons...And wait the length of time the doc says before resuming any of the above. You DONT want an infection there. Best of luck, get a bunch of movies and make it an R&R weekend. You'll feel fine in a day or two. :rose:

Girl, you're beautiful and the docs are gonna go gentle on you. But I'm sure that if it were me, they'd probably be jabbing around inside of me.

Hmmmm . . . I think I'll visit the doc today too. :)

ahhh - is that a little Pom in that pic? I have a little baby Pom - he's black instead of brownish blonde though. He's so cute.
