My daughter has this friend that just graduated and got kicked out of her house. (doesn't get along with mom) Her car broke down and she doesn't have a way to work. My daughter asks me if the girl can stay here so she won't have to stay on the street (just for a couple of days) That couple of days has turned into a week and I just told my daughter the friend will have to make other arrangements. I go in there and see the long look on the faces and now I feel bad.

meanie. Let the girl stay if she hasnt been much trouble.

You think I should. I can't workout now. I feel sorry for the person. It costs me money though. water, electricity, food, etc

I don't know what to do here.

ask... what would bite me do... then do the opposite...

see, i believe biteme would cave in and let the girl stay... then he'd be bitching and moaning about it on elitefitness.com

so, i say you boot the girl out or charge her rent so we dont hear about it.

oh, and dont fuck her.

If:

1) She hasn't been trouble
2) She doesn't play-out her mom and dad issues with you
3) You are ok with her staying (this is a huge one, think carefully)

Then:

1) Explain to her that she will become a household member, not a "guest". Guests have things brought to them and are cooked and cleaned for -- household members hold-up their end of the bargan.

2) Explain to her that you are not her father or mother. The first time she starts treating you like one or the other, she'll be looking for a place to stay.

3) Even if things go well, you want to sit down with her and your daughter on the last weekend of every month and talk about what's working and what's not working. She's a month-to-month guest and should never take her residency there for granted.

4) After 90 days, pick a modest number for rent and utilities she'll need to pay. If you are feeling generous, make it some small, token amount. Just as long as she has to find a job of some sort, you should be ok.

Agreed. Or if she is of legal age , have her blow you every day to earn her stay.
