A great portion, definitely. Hitler had it good, but then he fucked it all up by pushing East when he should have concentrated on the West and what he already had.

Bro, I'm not trying to put the Russians on this pedestal, saying they were these military geniuses or anything. Had Hitler faced as many Americans and Brits as he did Russians, he would have been even worse off, because the former were much better equipped.

All I'm saying is, the Russians broke the German war machine. Whether you think that was because of their great military prowess or because they were just an iron rod the tiger broke its tooth on, the point still stands. Had Hitler concentrated West and not gone east, we would have been fucked...or at the very least, the war would have gone on MUCH longer (until we were able to rush a TON more men to that front) :)

Now, in the far east...the Russians did jack. It was all the USA (ok, ok, Australia helped!)

Hitlers biggest blunder of the war was not being able to take England. That is the bottomline. That and he fought a war on two fronts, stretching his supply lines too far.

Hitler biggest mistake was not to listen to his superior officer and he was a megaloman.

I dont want to know what would happened if Hitler had listened to them :(

and i am saying that russia didn't break germanies war machine by themselves. in fact the russians had been long been urging of a second front that would take some of the German pressure off their own armies. On June 6, 1944 they get it when Operation Overload, under the overall command of American General Dwight (Gotta love Ike) Eisenhower, breached Hilter's Fortress from the west. The largest invasion fleet in history 3,200 warships, transports, and landing craft which crossed the English Channel from Britian and land on Normandy coasts. One day later 250,000 American, British, and Canadians soldiers ashore. About 6 months later U.S. and British troops opened 1945 camped on the Rhine and ready to invade Germany itself.

I also think it was US that invited the technology to detect U-Boats or otherwise they would be sinking ships left and right with not much of a fight.

Sorry, Germany was already on the downswing at D-Day, and the Russians made it to Germany just as fast as the western allies did.

the germans put up a powerful counterattack in belgium in the fall 1944, (the battle of the bulge.) maybe that is why russia urged for the opening of a second front because they didn't want something like that happening to them, but if you want to call it taking off pressure on russian armies then so be it. but then again i never said it was the battle of stalingrad was the only major turning point of the war. let me think, germany fighting off 250,000+ troops had nothing to do with russia making it to germany? ok, that make sense, not.

Stalin talking, "umm guys we just lost 20,600,000 people. can we get some help?" 13,600,000 military deaths. maybe that is the why Russia asked for help to take the German pressure off the Russian Armies.

what, is that correct? 3,250,000 german military deaths compared to russia's 13,600,000 military deaths. wow, that's more than 10,000,000 for the russians. 20,600,000 russian total deaths and 6,850,000 total german deaths. that's almost 14,000,000 for the russians. Russia sure broke the German Machine alright.
