both machines i have for sale are under 5 pounds.. all the shit these people are recommending are like 13 pounds.. good luck with your workout..

Fucking shit I thought you lifted weights man!!! ;)

Weight shouldn't be an issue on the comp it should be useability and reliability.

Lestat- Yes Alienware is a high end gaming comp but also a very good working comp, great for programming, anythiing online, and yes it is a bit of overkill for just work processing and excel useage. Though if you have to do any kind of presentation in powerpoint or other interactive media they rock.

alright well if you'd rather carry 13 pounds of books around all day than 5 have at it..

Fuck man I think mine weighs like 20lbs. It's got the steel re-inforcements in it and when it's in the case and I carry it with the shoulder strap my arm goes numb after a while, so 13lbs sounds like a feather.LOL

I will just be taking it to school mostly. Thanks for all the replies :)

It looks like Toshiba or Dell are the most popular.

I am nervous buying used computers especially a laptop because I know how hard people can be on their stuff.. a desktop you can't drop but a laptop could be on its last legs from being dropped 20 times and I'd never know.

Buy new and get the warrany and service plan so that if something craps out on it you can get it fixed for free. Computer repairs are very expensive, and it would only take one or two to make up the price difference between new and used. Plus you can tailor it to your needs.
