Im not following the the program in stone. I took out flat bench and subbed it for inclines, and its doing wonders for my OHP strength. Adding in some explosive moves like cleans and hang/highpulls has really helped too. I still cant get over my PR on the Log Press....I cant believe I cleaned it too.

So if your thinking about wanting to get stronger do Westside!!

awesome brotha....your slowly converting into what men call a powerlifter... :D..LOL
great stuff brotha!! tb

thanx guys....Nothing has convinced me yet to go back to BB. The onl think BB did for me was fuck up my shoulders.

And the search for perfection continues.

Its a good training method. . I have never heard any complaints about WSB. . .all of the principles make sense to me.

Good work Winters. . .I am glad you aren't phuking up your shoulders anymore.

So BB type workouts F'd up your shoulders more than these 1-3 rep maxes that WSB calls for? Kinda doesnt make sense, or does it?

I get more rest on WSB. Ive learned better form, Ive learned active recovery, and learned that pressing behind the neck has its woes.

its not the weight or reps that hurts people, its the form...

Actually, I had gotten into a discussion with someone, not too long ago, that said Olympic Lifting wasn't good for athletics and that periodization was a thing of the past ... blah blah blah. He went on to say that WSB and Louie Simmons had set him on the path to righteousness and that the world would see the light soon as most of the rest of us were training in the dark ages etc. Well, normally about this time I would also turn off but on this occasion I didn't have much else to do so I went to the site and did some reading. As it turned out, much of WSB and Lousie Simmons training methods were based on the very Russian research that I had been trained on. They/he had used the Russians research to develope, very intelligently I might add, a training methodology that would be applicable to Powerlifting. I realized that my friend was just misinformed and that we were actually in agreement. So, although I haven't been a Powerlifter for 20 years, I'm a believer in WSB :)
