I'm losing the battle, and it's all your fault!

Vouchers are bullshit. "Vouchers" is a code word for privatizing the education system.

What's wrong with public money going to private education? It has worked at the higher education level even though it inflates the cost of education? Private schools and charter schools consistently outperform public schools spending half as much per student while achieving better results.

I've been watching your video's for sometime now, some are informative. It's disappointing that, for example, you didn't voice your opinion on the education one. Friedman (?) is a supporter of vouchers in education, what are your thoughts? When you don't post a response to your video why would someone else?

If I post a vid, you can pretty much assume I agree with the premise...I agree with anything Friedman...

Any family who would use vouchers to help fund their children's private school is taking their funds away from the public schools to do so. Supporters of vouchers intend for this de-funding of the public schools to lead to their eventual demise and privatize the primary education system.

Well weve seen what a bang up job public schools have done so what do we have to lose.

Exactly how is a better education for less cost a bad thing? The United States has a voucher system for higher education and we have the best higher educational system in the world. Imagine graduating from high school with a 4.0 in AP classes and forced to attend north east south west community college as opposed to Harvard because of where you happen to reside.

Just recently, the county next to where I grew up used the traditional public school system scare tactics, no busing or extracurricular activities, to get a levy passed where 90% of the money went to pay increases for the admin...lollll.

Decent argument.

So would you support this: Private vouchers would only pay 80% of full public fare. The public system would get the 20% difference for their own use. That creates a 40% swing between private and public funding. If given that advantage public educations still couldn't survive, would you support the shift?

How about this?

Many of the students of New Orleans Public School system are future candidates to becum TV Stars, e.g. "Cops", "Lockup Raw", and/or "America's Most Wanted".

The few kids that demonstrate a willingness to achieve academically and have parents that give a shit are invited to a "Magnet" public school.

Across the board, magnet schools out perform their parochial/private school counterparts in the city.

I have a academically gifted friend who lived with his dad in N.E. who was accepted to Ben Franklin Magnet School in N.O. where his mother lived. He completed H.S. in N.O. and returned to Boston College on a full academic scholarship and graduated with honors.

I really like the magnet idea too. That would push the private voucher schools to compete harder.
