well considering i never had a daddy in my life, lol.... its more of an occupy my kids and get them involved kinda thing. Its a daily chore, a daily ritual, a daily activity we can all do together. Though of course I won't be running this said horse in the rodeo, we can all experience the thrill of the training, the feeding, the upbringing.

IMO its a growing experinece for us all, some family time. Something that all three of us would love to experience togther. We all love the outdoors, love animals... what better way to spend our evenings?

I'm teasing, it sounds like a great idea as long as you are ready for the task of raising such a large animal.

welcome back

really? I've quite a few places here to ride... and this buy is a steal, great horse, great blood line. She will be a roping horse, with a rider that is ranked top 5 in the USA. Its an investment for me, hopefully it will pay off.

and thank you suga, didn't realize anyone knew I was absent for a bit

lol i know tuts

really, it won't be here with me, ill have it at a different location and the guy whom plans on riding it and training it will help with all of that but i plan on having a huge role in it as well as involving my kids.

I can't house it here, i haven't the means but its been worked out that it will be stalled somewhere else, he will also train and rope with the horse. Win Win situation for him, i pay for the horse, damn good horse too... and he ropes with it. With potential to make tons of money if he wins ;)

You're already trading in what's his name huh? I can understand that. But to replace him with a horse? The horse may be stronger and more muscular but may be hung a little heavy for ya! :worried:

My services are still available to ya you know. All it takes is a phone call.

LOL @ the ads. one is for bull riding.

hahahah

didn't get her yet, gonna go by and check her out tomorrow and throw in the towel then. She's strictly for roping, but hopefully we can get some joy riding out of her.

I do want to ride a mechanical bull though, thats soon to come... details later :chomp: ;)

good luck with the horse...male or female?

female... pretty stubborn lil bitch from what I hear, but they make the best roping horses and thats what I'm buying her for. Also gonna try to get a young stud in the near future... ;)

oh NO.. lol, she'll be at a friends house.. the one that will be riding her for rodeo's. He's set up and already has a few horses there. I won't even be supplying feed, grooming and such. He has a sponser that will pay for all of that. ;)

was supposed to go and pick her up tonight but we have a bb game so gonna have to stall till tomorrow or saturday. :(

Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I need a saddle and all that good stuff.. this is really exciting. we had horses when I was a wee lad but never got to go do all this good stuff. I found a kick ass saddle that i truely adore, some matching boots and hat.. (so geigh i know but they are freaking kick ass) gonna run me about another 1500 for that.. eek... but shit im in love with that damn saddle. It rubs just right........................ I kidd LOL

my grandparent bordered horses so ive been around them my whole life until i left for the navy. im planning on taking my son horseback riding here soon. i think he will love it. i know i did. my grandparents bordered race horses and a few of them have been in some major races.

congrats frisk, your kids will love the horse.

dumbasses and your impulsive purchases. you do realize they eat and need space to run? need grooming? it's not a corvette, where you can toss a canvass over it and just jump in it and ride it when the urge arises.

My daughter has read every possible book she can find on Caring for and owning a horse. I would never go in to something like this blind. In Colorado, I plan on buying a nice size chunk of property so there will be plenty of space for them.

reading and doing are 2 different things. i helped my ex care for her sisters horse. it was miserable shit.

i wasn't directing that towards you, btw. see, you're a man and will prolly wind up taking care of this animal. but these ladies will eventually have to hire a man like me to "take care" of the problem that once was a horse.

I surely couldn't do this on my own, I have someone that will board and feed and help with all of that.. said person has been riding and caring for horses since he was old enough to walk. I'd never plunge into something like this blinded. My family owned horses when I was about 5 ish.. not sure the age but still, I personally never had to tend to them... therefore I know that I know not a damn thing about this. I am doing the finacial thing, and he's doing the caring thing... its a great investment for me, im getting this horse for about 1/8 the cost of what she's worth (friend) The blood line is freaking excellent, she's for the most part already trained to rope.... still have to train her to rope with him but she knows the dealo'

I have another horse in mind that I may purchase for my daughter, she wants to ride (barrels) but she needs a bit of time to get familiar with horses and riding, so the horse im considering is an older horse that is just a pleasure riding horse.

oh and btw... I cared for three German Shephards, im talking grooming feeding and walking daily after my divorce. I did all this on my own as well as the training. I'm no squemish bitch, ill get into the grime of things without hesitation. I will never own an animal and then not take care of it. If I take on a responsibilty, no matter if I hire someone to take care of it or not, ill be there to make sure its done. The main reason I have my S/O boarding this horse is becasue ... first.. he wants to, second he has the means to... has extra stalls etc, third will be roping with her therefor his bond with her will be much more important than mine, forth he knows a ton more than me about caring for horses.

I will suck up every bit of info that i possibly can from him so that I soon can have my own stall for my daughter but until then i have to tag alone and do what ever I can without being on site.
