Dear Brothers and Sisters of EF:

Knowing that George is a fair-minded person and is not into board-bashing and that this post will not be gratuitously deleted, I would respectfully nevertheless request that it be kept here until it disappears over time.

I'm a Mod on private boards (I prefer subscription boards), but have accepted the position as Mod on a new, well-managed, open board called www.whazsupp.com

I would welcome all good brothers and sisters to stop by and visit and post.

This little board is certainly no competition to EF, where I will continue to visit - have to get my money's worth as a Platinum subscriber, after all. :)

www.whazsupp.com will be my main "Open Board" though. It has all the markings of a private board and some really fine people and the board itself is well managed the Admnistrator and Mods, and by the Web designers and programmers at A to Z Development. And it is improving by the day.

I like it there. I see several old friends, too, which I like. And to those who don't know me, and since I was never made a Mod on this board, you will find my introduction - that will tell you who I am. I am not one of the overwelmingly secretive Mods who use all manner of handles and whose credentials in my view are suspect.

Newbies and vets from other boards are welcome. You will find dignity, respect, genuine knowledge and serious experience, helpfulness, and some fun.

No flames.

And no tolerance for source posting or inquiries. No PM SPAMS tolerated. No unsolicited emails to members tolerated. No Source Forum. And no tolerance for this "postcards from Bulgaria" nonsense. You will be banned, never to return. It's already happened.

So, to the gear-sellers...don't bother. To the teenagers, or those with teenage mentalities, find your open boards on which to flame and BS. There are plenty of them on this vast Internet (no names mentioned).

I believe you will find it a good little place to be. True, there are but 24 hours in the day, but I nevertheless believe it will be a good place to visit occasionally, even if you are a 24/7 EF addict, as I once was.

I agree with Dexter, it is a very well run board..and now that Dexter is there...well it just makes it all the better!

yes your board mr. spot me definately is great, and it's only been around a short time. wish smartmuscle was like that. :( oh well. hey remember, if u need any future mods over there just hollar and i'll be there. ;)
 
A big bump to the top for a dedicated friend, Dexter. With so many good choices for boards these days try and stop by just to say hi...

Yes...I remember Rock's old board. And as the site development team is working practically around-the-clock, and they are very, very good at their work, the board is showing marked improvements daily.

The new members we've seen lately are a good group, indeed. It would be nice to see the "hunter-killers" like 2Thick, Macro, Huck and others be there, but I understand their duties and obligations to EF.

I do miss the old days of EF. www.whazsupp.com will never be an EF - there is only one EF - but I'm sure it will be a nice place for people to enjoy a sort of quiet quality that even EF and those of other boards would want to experience, just to get away from the fray.

And there will NEVER be any board bashing of EF. EF's been my home, too.

Wow. I certainly didn't expect this thread to reappear. I thought it would just fade away, as I had asked George that it would be allowed to do,without any any aggression (fade away, that is). And George generously granted that privilege.

www.whatzsupp.com is an interesting board to me. It is not, to my knowledge, an "off-the-shelf" board and modified (and boards such as EF have been modified excellently).

It is a board that has been built from scratch!

Yes, brothers and sisters (and the board could use a few nice ladies, really), it is the product of real software development. We're talking serious coding here from a guy who works practically 24/7.

It's a small board, and you won't find "certified" gear-sellers, "approved sources," or open posting on this open board, or any of that nonsense. It's just a little board, and I, as a mod, want to see how it develops. I still believe it's a "good break from the fray" from other, large, open boards.

There is a very strict non-solicitation policy, and even indirect adverting policy (including so-called picture "contributions" under the veil of advertising), so it might not appeal to some (many). But to others, mainly those who've been around (but newbies are welcomed)...it's a break. An opportunity for mods, vets, and serious newbies to talk about the sport and not sell gear.

Because there won't be any gear-sellers or "approved" sources, the membership will be small. But I'd rather see 200 good people talking about the sport than gear-sellers and picture-posters who add practically no real value to the board. It's always easy to find a gear pic if you search, anyway.
