I'm a little distraught

My cousin died on Friday night.
He was out playing paintball with his kids & died of a massive heart attack. They say he was gone before he hit the floor.
I didn't know him that well, so I don't know his history.
What bothers me is:
1. He was my cousin & I didn't know him.
2. He was only 49. Everything I've done since I heard, I keep thinking he won't be able to do those things anymore, with his family.
3. I always thought when us cousins start to go, My brother or I would be the first. Deadly genetics on both sides, & unhealthy lifestyles through our early years.

RIP to your cousin and godspeed to his kiddos...hopefully he had a life ins policy to set his kids up with.
on a postive note at least he died in harmony and little agony.
define unhealthy lifestyle please

Myself & bro, abject poverty when we were kids. As teens & young adults we overcompensated & ate everything in sight. :RADAR:
Everybody tell your younguns. That kind of behaviour as teens can kill you. My bro & I are under 45 & we've both been diabetic since our mid 30's.

Sorry to hear that bro. I offer my condolences.

We just had a popular legion baseball coach drop dead of a heart attack last week. He was 40 years old. So sad and so young.

My condolences to you and his family.

Sorry to hear that, given your family history and diabetes you need to have routine stress testing of your heart to stratify your risk of cardiac event.

Its a predictive test. Unfortunately half the people who have their first heart attack die so that is their first sign of cardiac disease. Given your concern get a referral for a cardiology consult. Its not hard to manage cardiovascular disease but diabetes will complicate things given the insulin damages the internal lining of arteries

sorry to hear man,but use this as motivation to get to the gym,eat healthy and live to watch your grand babies grow up
This is what has been driving me, my imminent demise. An uncle on my mother's side had his first heart attack & triple bypass at the ripe old age of 34. :worried: He lived to the ripe old age of 68.

Sorry to here that....sure makes you want to live every day to the fullest cause you never know when something is gonna happen....we take things for granted
