im 14, and just starting

well since your so young, dont go heavy, keep it high reps, dont force them out, just do a simple routine like chest shoulder tris one day, next day back and bi's and the third day legs and calves, do lots of cardio if you wanna get ripped

illuminati, in my first post i said i know it takes dedication, and im ready to dedicate alot to this, but i was wondering whats the shortest and easiest routine to do with the best results on the machines im using

Welcome to the boards brother!! I started when I was 14 as well, at 105-115lbs. I went all out from the beginning, spending hours and hours in the gym lifting. The routine I started on and still incorporate is this one:

Its worked very well for me, and its still the foundation of my current routine. You say youre ready to be dedicated yet ask for the shortest and easiest route to accomplish these goals. I suggest you make it a lifestyle, cuz it takes years and years to see dramatic results. Youll notice results in the first few months and in the first few years, but itll take time, hard work, eating enough and patience. Id also reccomend you get access to a gym. Itll make all the difference. Not sure what your exact goals are, but even small improvements take time. Hope that helps

Definetely a great start in working out, just use all the equipment you have to its maximum potential and when your ready to move past it start looking into alternate places to work out such as a real gym.

Since your just starting out don't try to go real heavy, concentrate more on learning the proper form and finding what weights are going to produce the greatest results.

Come up with a routine you will stick with, be it 3 days a week or more, just something that will keep you in check with your schedule.

Start reading up on diet, nutrition and proper food in take. It's not as bad as it sounds, just dont get all your calories from mc donalds and burger king :) Start taking multi vitamins if you don't already and any other NUTRITIONAL supplements you can.

Why do you recommend he have a gym pass?

I'm just curious why he can't do what he needs todo at home?

I've been at it for a while, and due to shitty programs, and not 100% i haven't grown alot... but now i'm getting there now.

If anything you can do what you need todo in at home (with proper instuction) until you get really heavy (walking beast style) then it's jsut unsafe to do it at home! haha

But doesn't working out on freeweights allow more stablizier muscle growth and contribute to overall better lifts?
Just my understanding - i haven't been around quite as long though, so i'm still learning

That's great that you're hitting the weights. I started when I was 14 too and did most of my lifitng in my room with my cheapo adjustable bench and concrete filled plastic weights. AHHhhhhh, the good ole days when I would throw on some 2Pac and hit the weights hard and not have to listen to the crap they play at my gym. N'sync sucks to workout too! Of course, I didn't do squats or deads, and I had to clean the weight everytime I was going to do inclines and overhead pressing of any kind, but hey, I still do it at the gym too lol. Old habits die hard. I think you would make the best progress going to a gym though as you really have to do squats and leg presses for maximum muscular development and overall weight and mass increases. Keep lifting and don't let anything or anyone discourage you from getting bigger and stronger.

Ill explain. Its not necessary to workout in a gym to reach your goals. It can be expensive to get all the equipment youll need though, and you also need the space. Finding a good spotter can also be difficult at home. Its hard enough in a gym. Of course you can use a power rack with pins to catch the weight if you fail though Ive never tried that personally. And I agree, freeweights are the best. I go to the gym to use thier freeweights mostly, though I incorporate machine work secondary as well. It can be done if you have the dedication and some money to put down. A good power rack and adjustable bench with a barbell and a decent amount of weight should be a good start. Dumbells are always good to have too, and an EZ curl bar. The main reason I reccomend a gym is because many people lose motivation or dont have the drive to push themselves at home. Alot of times equipment gets dusty and people quit. Best of luck with whatever you choose!

a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. deadlift alot, eat alot, train alot , stretch alot, flex alot- youre good to go.

good luck lil bro!! just remember being as young as you, pace yourself!!!!!!

stick with big compound movements, you dont need alot of equipment for it...good luck

Peace
