I guess I am not as Jaded as you you Katrina survivors. Our shit was fucked up for a few days from Fay and we barely got tropical storm force winds. A major hurricane would suck balls. All the weather people are saying it will probably intensify but they don't know shit. Best case scenario is it slams into Haiti then hits the Yucatan. Filthy Haitians.

CAT 3 isn't nothing to joke about, but it's hardly historic.

CAT3​
Some structural damage to small residences and utility buildings, with a minor amount of curtainwall failures. Mobile homes are destroyed. Flooding near the coast destroys smaller structures with larger structures damaged by floating debris. Terrain may be flooded well inland.

I'm on vacation on the NC coast. It's been beautiful this week. Below is the view from yesterday. NC and VA just declared states of emergency and we are supposed to head inland no later than tomorrow. It sucks i'm going to have to cut my vacation short but damn its been beautiful and i've got one hell of a tan. Can't complain.
