shit since Im an only child I dont have to go, but if I was drafted I would not go, I would go to jail first, aint no way in hell Im gonna be killed for our government, Im not trying to be anti-american, but thats was the stupid pukes who enlist are for!

1) The fact that you are an only child does not mean that you cannot be drafted. The only way to avoid the draft if you are sound of health is if you are an only child AND your father was killed in military service. But since only "stupid pukes" enlist in military service, I guess your father wouldn't be someone killed in military service.

2) Pick any nation in the Middle East, Asia, or South America that you'd like to live in instead of the United States. Can't think of one? Guess what - you'd be living in one of them if not for some "stupid pukes" who lived about 225 years ago.

Am I enlisting? No. I'm a college student with an important position in a company and a bright future ahead of me. If my country, however, needed me and called upon me to help, I would not hesitate to go or attempt to hide.

I would rather die today as a free man than live tomorrow as a slave.

Anyone who would prefer the latter is the one deserving the label of "stupid puke."

Yeah....I'm enlisted already. I'll be on a ship though. It's still scary, but not as scary as being on ground.

Before I leave I know it will be VERY emotional....especially if this isn't settled by then, which I'm sure it won't be. It will be hardest on my mom and grandma and brother. They'll show it the most at least. I'm sure it will still be hard on my dad. I'm their oldest child and only daughter and they weren't very gung ho on signing the papers to let me join back in June and now after this they somewhat regret it, but they don't talk about it much.

Everyone at school is giving me mad props though and the guys keep telling me I make them feel like pussies because they don't even have the balls to join, so that's cool.

But anyways, I wish I could go now. I can't wait to go out there and be a part of this and serve our country. It will give me the greatest feeling of Pride I will ever feel in my life.

My parents refuse(d) to sign the DEP papers b/c my mom is against it and my dad said "I'd feel like I was signing your life away. You do what you want when you 18. I don't agree, but I'll support it." So 3-17-02 I sign.

I wanted in before this and now I want it more. I'm not sure on an MOS but Recon always appealed to me in a way. I wish I could go now as well. I can't wait to do my part.

I didn't always agree with things the Govt has done, but looking back on it I can say I really dont agree with the Dems points of view over the past 8 years which greatly affected my opinions. No system is perfect but Untill everyone gets involved how can we change it

As for your thoughts about Enlisted men

1. I have a life, and a very full one at that. There are a good number of people here who have met me can attest to that.
2. I lived a very civil and have no criminal record besides a couple of speeding tickets from years ago. Never even been arrested for that matter.
3. I know enough to say that
A. I'll have a Job guaranteed for 4 years
B. I'll get training for a job that is related to what I want to do in the outside world
C. I'll get College credit for a good portion of my training for that job as well as a Networking Certification
D. I'll Have what little is left for me to finish college Paid for and what the GI bill doesn't the State of TX will pay it
E. All of this in a job that isn't a dead end, and will do more then just pay my bills

now for this I offer to them and my citizens
1. 4 years of my life for activity duty and another 8 years of possibly being recalled if needed

2. my Life if I'm killed

3. Doing a job that some including CN1 are not willing to do

For you to say all that enlisted are basically dipshits with nothing going on I say look at me

I had 2 years left of college, Parents who paid my bills and no college loans to repay. Given a vehicle and the option of working or not if it helped me with my time for school. I didn't have to do shit but go to school. School wasn't something I cared to much about, I didn't party my ass off like most and wasn't getting much out of school at this time. I'm sorry if you dont think enlisting is something that is needed but the good thing is that it's a volunteer military. People volunteer for their own reasons, and that should be good enough for them and anyone else.

God knows I dont agree with alot of shit our country does, but that doesn't mean I would turn my back on it's defense. For Christ sake this country gives me a Chance to accomplish something in life, so why shouldnt I repay it in some way.
