It would be cool if I was driving down a street and some guys were unloading an armored truck, and, POOF! They disappeared?

But not really because the whole value of money would get screwy. THe survivors would get all the disspearee's shit, as well as their money. SO everyone would immediately (or almost immediately) become about 150% richer. You'd have all this money and all this stuff, but let's say you wanted to buy something really fancy and/or custom made, there would be 60% less skilled craftsmen who could make that thing, so the demand would bi higher and the price would be higher....

Demand wouldn't be higher because there'd assumably be 50% less people who'd want a custom made good... coinciding with the reduction of 50% of skilled craftsman.

Amount of money individuals have would go up, but prices would change to reflect this increase so i'd imagine the relative cost of things would stay about the same.
