if pot is decriminalized?

Puc

Banned
what will happen to the records of those who have been charged with possession? what will happen to those who are in jail for repeated offenses.

i know you cannot be charged with a crime that was criminalized after you committed it, but will your record be cleansed if you were convicted of a crime that was later decriminalized?

and, will you all (not 2thick) be my friends now please?

I've heard that provided your crimes were only marijuana related, you could probably appeal and have the rest of your sentence dropped. Any fines and paraphenelia would most likely not be reimbursed.

It'll be a great day for this country.

did they make it legal in las vegas? did that deal pass?

It's "Question 9" on the Nevada ballots this November. It would allow possession of up to 3 ounces.

If it passes, expect quite a few states to follow with similar actions quickly. Worldwide, cannibis in general is being legalized in more and more places, such as England & Canada. It's only a matter of time before the US catches up.

Marijuana is, btw, healthier than smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol

If marijuana is decriminalized, would that focus more law enforcement attention on steroid users? I think so....I want weed to be decriminalized but since I care more about myself than potsmokers I say no on that issue until roids arent schedule 3 anymore.

Frack...no big bucks in busting sources with only about 10 g worth of stuff on them. The FBI, DEA types want those millions of dollar types of bust.

Following the Canadian Senate report, they'll just trash all the criminal records concerning pot. BTW Switzerland is about become the first country to make pot legal.

that is an interesting thing - I would assume that they would let the people go on the pot side, but would not if there were other charges in there that also still applied.

that said, it seems a bit off. the US has a rule that says no ex post facto ("after the fact").
meaning that if pot were totally legal in the states and you were selling it big time - like the Amazon of the pot world - and then one day they made it illegal. as long as you stopped selling pot - they could not charge you for the pot that you sole when it was legal.
so to reverse that, to change the law to say that pot is just dandy, technically by ex post facto, the people prior to that should not be touched by the new law.

but I would assume that since it is removing punishment instead of giving it, they would let them go.
