let me begin an Investment / Entrepreneurship forum?

you all see the C & C board littered every 2 or 3 days with a new person wanting to learn 'the way'.

'what's a good biz to start?'

'how do I "get rich"'

I mean not to detract from these threads, but to direct and concentrate them for further discussion.

A person who demands excellence in one field of their life (i.e. fitness), often eventually (as they should) find that desire translated to other endeavors. They feed on the challenge. Excellence, to be elite.

I feel obligated to say b/c of the nature of what I'm asking for... that this would be non profit absolutely. By random act of Google I found this place and I happened to take a liking to it.

I would with respect and deference ask MattTheSkywalker to help me moderate the new project, or even solely moderate the joint until I prove myself worthy.

I do not claim to be wealthy or retired. In fact I sold all the properties I owned because I just couldn't refuse the offers in this real estate market. But I have been studying this for close to 8 years, and I seek to meet others like me.

If my proposition is met with a positive response, consider me.......

I believe we all need to take responsibility for our own financial futures, whether you be hardcore capitalists looking to score the big one or looking to save away safely for the next 40 years and retire independently.

Dude, sounds like a great idea to me, I know I'd be checkin out the forum. It's your idea so you should have a chance to be a Mod, but its cool youre willing to let another Mod like Matt(good choice!) to moderate it until maybe you put in a little work and get it started.
Good luck bro, I like the idea, my girl is getting a settlement in less than 2 wks. for about 30K and will have another settlement right after that for about the same. We are 23 and 24 and are looking for ways to invest this money as we each have one child and are getting married next year.

I think that the dollar will be in a slump for awhile. it had a huge huge runup from 1994 to 2002 and what goes up must come down. There are U.S. firm that specialize in helping Americans invest in foreign currency CD's. you get the same return that a person living in that country would get, plus any appreciation (or unfortunately, depreciation too) when you convert the currency back into dollars when the CD matures.

Here's one company that got rated high by Forbes, called EverBank:

lol, of course we have a sense of humor, still the same people just different topics.

there are a lot of issues surrounding every investment decision, for instance in addition to the downward trend of the dollar I mentioned there are many other factors that should be looked at before investing in a foreign currency.

this forum definitely shouldn't be one that says "buy this, not this" but should instead teach fundamentals of investing and discuss current events so each person can come to their own conclusions about markets. it is, after all, your own money in the end.

I'm also excited about the brainstorming possibilities of the entrepreneurs here.
