Does anyone here who has experience with HIV have suggestions on helping someone with a staff infection? I know he is on antibitics and percoden for pain.

Thanks.. :rose:

I really don't know much myself. Staf is a pretty serious thing, especially depending how old the person is. In my city we just had a sports broadcaster die from an infection that he caught while in the hospital. It seems to hit older people, those over 60, a lot harder. I don't have an honest answer for you.

Generally, the treatment for a staff infection is the same for HIV + or - individuals. I don't know how advanced your friend's HIV infection is. If his/her T-cells are reasonably high, there shouldn't be any difference in prognosis from an HIV- person. I also don't know how long it was before your friend sought medical treatment for the staff infection itself.

I think about all you can do is be there to provide moral support (which is more powerful than you might think).
