Definitely learn to regulate your pressure in that pool. =-)

I couldn't see how deep it goes. Maybe I just missed it saying that somewhere?
I'm only judging from the pictures, but it looks like the first two levels are 40-60 ft. deep combined, and the deep and smaller part with the ladder is another 30-50 ft. That is my guesstimate.

Awh hell I thought you were going to say you would pay 1,000 for someone to lick the kitty... damn however I will do it for free..
LOL...

you seen the vid of the diver that died.. while filming pretty scary shit..

Jesus!

He descended 90 feet like a ROCK! His dive buddy was nowhere to be found. It was like he had WAY TOO MUCH WEIGHT and couldn't get it off or something. SCARY SHIT there! I think by the time he got to the bottom he was in such a daze from the fast descent that he couldn't find either his regulator or his secondary regulator once the regulator fell out of his mouth.

Just goes to show that no matter how good you are, you can't dive by yourself.

was reading more about it .. it was 120 meters.. some people said he was commiting suicide.. guess no one will ever know..

NO ONE would commit suicide that way. That would HURT! When you descend fast your ears hurt so bad you want to die. He was struggling to breath the whole way down and struggling to find his regulator once it fell out of his mouth. God that was scary to watch. It looks like he got snagged on something. No one descends as fast as he did. That was NUTS to watch. I was definitely empathizing with his panic. It's like he couldn't drop his weights or something. He was still shallow enough when he started having problems that he may have made it to the top if he could have dropped his weights and just come on up.

As much as I love to dive, my biggest fear in life is drowning.

I would like to see sassy chime in on that video. She is or was a dive instructor.

said the way he setup his no2 that it would basically make him lucid and he wouldn't feel the rest..

shit like this is why you will NEVER catch me anywhere near anything remotely resembling scuba equipment. I cant swim very well anyways, I sink like a sack of rocks even without weights. man, that is hard to stomach seeing that!!

hmmmm....give a link to the article. If he commited suicide that way, he is a weird MF...lol. Sounds like maybe someone else could have set him up, if you know what I mean. There would be such more pleasant ways to die.

It sounded like he said help. ugh. that scared the shit out of me. I've never panicked under water. That is the number one way to get hurt.

I have a jr cert that i got 15 years ago and Im planning on diving while in Destin FL next month. guess i better take a refresher course!

To get good diving in Fl, go to key west. further up that north isn't so great.

Im not going to Destin just to dive, figure it maybe a way just to kill an afternoon.
That is cool. There may be a cool wreck or something there to dive. The reefs in florida are all pretty much destroyed b/c of pollution and such except for in key west. Where I used to dive used to be teaming with big barracuda. Was a bit intimidating sometimes.

I just watched the clip.:( It was strange to me in that he seemed to be doing what he intended to at the bottom until he started thrashing around. I'd have to question a few things though. His decent was way to fast for me, at my experience level, I don't know why he'd even do that intentionally. Was it narcosis? All he'd have had to do was put some air in the BC and dump his belt! How is it he couldn't get to his regulator or secondary for that matter? My BC had a loop that held the Primary Reg close to the chest and this guy dove for a living. His equipment should have been top of the line. The whole thing just leaves me with questions.

I enjoyed diving a lot and dropped off a shelf to just over 100' and still didn't reach the floor. There really wasn't much to see at that depth either though. Why did this guy drop to 91m with no buddy? If his mix was off it may have just screwed him up. He may have gone heavy to try to maximize his bottom time. There just isn't enough info on this one.

it didn't look right from the beginning. No one drops that fast, regardless of experience level. Plus, you hear him sucking for air on the way down. it sounded like he wasnt getting enough air. He should have been able to drop weight and come up when he first started struggling. It looked like he was only at twenty feet or so and something startled him and he sounded like he said help. Then he dropped FAST. That had to burst his ears. No way anyone would drop that fast on purpose. Plus, he drowned way to fast at the bottom. It was like he wasn't getting much air the entire way down.

***** This is a reply to BNG... I fucked up and lost the quotes********

- That descent was too fast for anyone...An educated guess here: he's maybe new to filming and overweighted himself... housing is usually neutral... some are neg but majority are neutral. used steel tanks instead of aluminum (negative rather than neutral- then bouyant) all equal more weight. didnt check his gear well predive? normal is 60ft per min.

Was it narcosis?
-Was he on mixed gas? air nitrox... nitrox divers dont go deep...Narcosis I think so. NN can set in in as little as 2 atm, but more likely at 3. every one feels it's affects differently, and at different rates and all that is dependand upon the conditition of the person for that specific day.

All he'd have had to do was put some air in the BC and dump his belt! -When your narced out you dont think.. you have NO friggin clue what's up, down, sideways.. nothing.

How is it he couldn't get to his regulator or secondary for that matter?
- How would have that even helped??

My BC had a loop that held the Primary Reg close to the chest and this guy dove for a living. His equipment should have been top of the line. The whole thing just leaves me with questions.

- Most instructors I know who dive for a living had shitty thrashed equipment, (mine was nice) and rarely even used weight ... I think this guy was narc'd out. I have seen many diving accidents and most came from stupidity, lack of experience or too much damn stuff strapped all over the diver... knives, tables, computers, cards, slates, flashlights, bang sticks, spare airs, .. too much shit to get all tangled in and keep track of. I would NEVER trust a computer... hell no. seen too many fail.

I enjoyed diving a lot and dropped off a shelf to just over 100' and still didn't reach the floor. There really wasn't much to see at that depth either though. Why did this guy drop to 91m with no buddy?
- I dont think that was intentional

If his mix was off it may have just screwed him up.
- or killed him, he did expire.

-exactly

This is a really sad scenario.

That may be at the Navy's dive school.
That would be a great guess. Seems too expensive for civilians to have built it.
