I love how they have some skinny 150 pound guy hawking that thing. You really don't need a bowflex to have a single digit bf% while weighing 150 pounds.

When I see a top IFBB pro using it, then I may consider it.

I bet you could make decent gains from it.. I have never used it so I don't know if everything is ergonomically correct or not..

But I think BB'ers make too much of a deal about varying the exercises they do..

I mean, guys feel obligated to do 5 or so different exercises for their bi's.. Now, I"m not an expert of exercise physiology or anything... But I can tell you that the bicep has one job and one job only-- elbow flexion.

It does not matter if you are using cables, barbells, dumbells, whatever.. Elbow flexion is elbow flexion...

Are there any exercise phys gurus on the boards???

Andy

Andy, do you, personally, do heavy squats, deadlifts, chin-ups, etc....???
If you were sarcastic, I appologyze, for not catching it...:)

I know most of this thread is a joke but I wouldn't buy a bowflex anytime soon. The company is local and has some major law suites comming. Seems the rods have a tendancy to break, sending long metal spear like objects everywhere. Couple deaths and a few more serious injuries. Shish-k-bob comes to mind.

The secret is in the patented powerrods that builds your body while making you shake like a vibrating monkey. 9 out of 10 monkeys go bannanas for bowflex

Thats not shit. You can do 20 excercises in one, including the gym quality sliding up and down a ramp on a wheeley board holding on to two strings excercise. The same excercise Ronnie Coleman uses to work his pecs, tris, bis, quads, and calf muscles all in one movement, while still looking like a 5 year old on a see saw.

wrong....the bicep is also responsible for the pronation and supination of the wrist...

Bicep's also responsible for feeding me sometimes...When i'm at a friends house and hungry, i can always count on chewing off a chunk of bicep to keep me full till i get home for some real food, like gnawing on some good ole fashioned thigh of my grandfather.

love what you've done with the place George:rolleyes:

I won't lie I own one of those bowflex's with the lat, and leg attachment. Me and my ex bought it 2 years ago. I still use it but also have a gym membership. It will never replace free weights. I does do a pretty good job for the upperbody on light days, I can get good pump from it but I still go to the gym 3-4 days a week. I have 310lbs of those rods and they seem to do ok but can't never get enough to do leg presses.
I origanlly wanted a power rack or something but it took up too much space.

Nothing replace the free weight!!

may likes it

bowflex was recommended by may1010 earlier this month. it has made him the man he is today.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Yea probably but it was my ex that was really wanting to get it but I still have the thing and do use it from time to time. It wouldn't be the first dumb ass thing I did or bought and I am sure it won't be the last. liv and learn.

Could you imagine if you were watchin your bud on one of those things (laughing inside) and the thing snapped and one of those bars slapped ya in the nuts?! Thing looks fuckin dangerous!

bowflex

I have a cousin with a bowflex and they are very useful if you are looking to get cut up. the range of motion is limitless, but as far as trying to gain mass on it, no way....im all about dumb bells and bars.....
i wouldnt mind to have one for cutting though, it can get the blood pumping for a good cardio session.
theyre just too damn expensive
