For the last few days whenever I pick him up he opens his mouth wide and rubs it all over my face. I'm dripping with slobber when he is done. I thought he was trying to bite me because he is teething, but I finally realized that he is giving me kisses.

This morning he put his mouth on my mouth and opened as wide as he could and then just kept it there like that and sort of chuckled.

Awww, I recall those baby kisses as if it were yesterday. No sweeter kiss in life than when babies learn how to kiss mom or dad. You lucky lady. I miss all these fun stages.

Now, I must warn you, it's all fun and games until they barf in your face or mouth. Bri was doing, waht I thought at the time, the "kissy face", but instead,she was getting ready to gag, and puked in my mouth. Jesus, I was looking to see if she had a warranty tag somewhere on her, cuz I was ready to return her that VERY instant! I had the dry heaves for 10 minutes after that experience. lol

The only shocking thing he does now is he sometimes bites me when he has decided he's finished breast feeding. HOLY COW that is an eye opener.

Here's the deal, you bring that baby into the world and you give and give and give (physically, monitarily, emotionally). It's a one way street and you are just sucked dry in every since of the word. You love your baby but you are exhausted and sleep deprived. Then, suddenly one day your baby smiles at you and that keeps you going a little longer. Then they start licking you face and lavishing all their love on you, the center of their universe, it's more than you need to keep going. Suddenly, it's all so worth it. Take heart, this is only just the beginning of your kiddo blessing you back.

You must be modeling great behavior to your child for him to be loving you back in such a manner. Good job mom!!!
