God bless. I usually get my Christmas shopping done in November. Went late this year, around Dec 8th. I can't handle people. I find it utterly depressing to watch all those middle aged housewives with sunken eyes clinging so desperately to the only function they can hang their hats on nowadays - consuming.

I don't like crowds (who does), so i do a lot online.
and since i make glassware, if i need a last minute gift, i usually have something.

I doubt it would be similar (that doesn't really make much sense given that I am not a middle aged housewife who's job is to consume), but I'm sure they would be thinking some sort of negative thought about me. At least, I hope so.

no, sorry. similar implies that you depress them and that they think you are sad and that consumerism is you're only value in life. they are probably judging you for your age, that although different from theres, is still a generalization.

what you wrote had absolutely nothing to do with me (as i'm sure you know), since:
a. I don't consider myself "middle age"
b. I don't have "sunken eyes" (?)
c. I hate shopping
d. I hate malls.
e. I work.

Well, I hit the mall with fury at 11am and was outta there by 1pm. I did alright...only dropped my shoulder into one person hard, and cursed out two more. Aside from leaning on the horn and flipping off several drivers in the parking lot, that was the extent of the unpleasantness. Either it wasn't as hectic as in years past, or I'm starting to mellow a bit as the years go by. (smart money is on the mall being less hectic)
