I stood trial yesterday!

Wow... what a wild experience...

I was charged with DUI and fleeing the scene of a property damage accident. (A and B misd.)

We offered to plead guilty to the B (I did run over a mailbox). The prosecutor refused the deal, so we went to trial.

The prosecutor had two cops and a citizen witness. right in the middle of their testimony my lawyer launched into a flurry of objections that lasted about thirty seconds. Other than that, he was quiet. After the prosecutor was done making his case, my lawyer moved for a directed verdict, reminded the judge about the flurry of objections, and pointed out that because certain things were therefore not admitted into evidence, the case had not been proved (the prosecutor didn't "connect the dots"). The judge agreed.

Case dismissed.

I haven't stopped smiling for a day. I feel like I need to roll around in the grass with my cat!!!
