I Really Miss Snow Days

I Told You So ...

When I was a kid it was like Christmas, a total gift. Best feeling on the planet.

Now it's nothing but inconvenient, dangerous white shit.

I mean being able to sleep in and not worry about anything. As an adult you're still expected to accomplish your tasks, get to work and so forth, but with the added PITA of clearing the car, maybe digging out the car or the driveway, plus clearing the sidewalk.

Still friggin' snowing here. Looks like Antarctica out there and one township seems to have forgotten they own salt and plows so one of the streets (I live on a corner) is totally covered, on the cross-street you can actually see the macadam and yellow stripes.

Hubby has been fighting a bug all week, he's throwing in the towel today, finally. I get to play nurse. Whoopie, I have company!

NJ got slammed.

I got a snow day at work the other day. At noon boss man told us to leave due to "incliment weather" no joke lol.

I like the snow
I did when I was younger, too. You own a house with 250' of sidewalk and two cars to clear you'll grow to hate the shit after a few decades, too, snowblower not withstanding.

We're talking about cocaine, right?
God, I never even thought about that. Never had that particular experience, when it comes to illicit drugs my total experience is positively vanilla.

And now I'm too poor to ever hope to try it, sigh. Just as well, it'd probably kill me straight off the blocks.

I can put a water bottle on my porch and some beach bum will drink it in 2 minutes then piss in the alley.

Where I live they average 250" of snow a winter. It's a PITA but we have the equipment to handle it and I haven't grown the HATE it yet after 20 years.

so true I hate it.

I used to love snow too, and sometimes when I don't have to get out in it, it's kinda cool but generally it just gives me anxiety. I don't like to drive in snow. Nothing will make me feel better about driving around in that shit. Can't stand it. I hate being an adult sometimes. It feels like a worsening depression...having trouble enjoying all the things you used to enjoy blah blah

then again I like being free.

If you are all bitching this much about how you hate it, why not fucking move?

I've never seen snow here in my life

There's the f translation.. Cindy.. Pretty normal for this time of year

Lol my phone is old! And I'm not at home so not using wifi... Killing time in line at the grocery store.

I have bluetooth on my home theater system and I can put pandora on for like a half an hour and it's dead

Piece of shit

I don't even know what that store is! Lol

But I can start my car from my cell phone so by the time I get out it will be warm.

lolololo @ stone

I had to download a fucking unit conversion app just to post on the AAS board

I have only seen snow once. It was when I was stationed in Tasmania and we did a run up a mountain near Hobart.

Stationed with who, the 1st Faggot Brigade?

To be honest, the snow I saw may not have been snow. It wasn't actually snowing when I saw it. It had already landed, turned to ice and was melting. I don't know that much about the life cycle of snow. I do know this hot chick who hugged a snowman though. I think it had a carrot for a nose.

Go shove a carrot up your ass

Thanks for your advice. It is appreciated. How long is your carrot? And do your balls get in the way?

In my defense, it wasn't my choice to live here, it was 1st husband -- I am getting tired of paying for the rest of my life for the stupid decisions I made as a young woman, though.

Will move eventually (have to, actually, can't afford to live here if he can't work anymore). Gotta wait for hubby to decide to take retirement at this stage of the game. 50 and 60 year old people can't just pick up and start over at the drop of a hat, not unless they have a helluva lot of financial liquidity, which we don't.

Move to San Diego. It was sunny and warm by 8:00am. Great beach weather today.
:lmao: :FRlol: :lmao: :FRlol: :lmao: :FRlol:

You gonna pay for where we live!?! Holy shit, if where I live now is overpriced San Diego is like stratospheric! We're gonna be on a damned fixed income, maybe a little part time money coming in, that's it.

You young 'uns who made good life decisions early, you got choices, enjoy. That's what I tried to grind into my son's head and I think he finally got the message. Hubby and I fucked up early, we're sleeping in our bed, is what it is. The reality is we don't need much, just something super quiet, convenient to nature and cheap. We'll be happy with a double wide, if we have to, as long as we can make our bills.

Florida meat-up?

Florida meat-up?
Florida is actually a consideration because of no personal/retirement taxes but the heat and humidity are almost a bigger put off than snow (the snow is a PITA because it's a high foot traffic/visibility corner). We really do want something nearly rural. We just don't know Florida well.

It's like some bizarre physics formula: Cost of property (rental is doubtful, we have pets and I'd like a garden) PLUS annual cost of property taxes PLUS climate PLUS population density PLUS proximity to natural areas that will never be developed, preferably near water.
