To the point where I'm being angry and resentful...

Career advice? I've always wanted to be a COP, how hard is it to be a cop?
 
I think you either need to be a short guy with a mustache, or a chick that wants to be taken seriously. And some high school.

Do you own Oakleys? Do you chew your gum with your mouth open? Do you refer to your car or motorcycle only as "vehicle"? Do you have those fingerless driving gloves and a flat top? You may already be a member of the Utah Highway Patrol.

Buck teeth and/or missing half? Under Educated to the point you resent people that are able to speak without thinking of how to pronounce a word correctly? Like to drive drunk in your cruiser when off duty for giggles and beat on minorities? Do you get off on staring people in the eye because you feel superior to them because you have a uniform and they have done no wrong? If you do it to older women you get to be Chief.

If answer to one is yes, apply to Georgetown, KY PD, if answered yes to all of the above, apply to Richmond, KY PD.

I do marketing and advertising crap.

Basically if I sit in an office, hear another fucking buzzword or see another middle manager I'm going to choke a bitch.
 
I'm not a minority so no nerves to be touched. I just hate seeing toothless hicks get the uniform and go stir-crazy with the power they get. Born, raised and still live in Kentucky, and cops are seemingly the same everywhere in this state.

I've never been arrested, pulled over only once and never been accused of anything by a cop. I've known a few personally is where I'm coming from. And I wouldn't mind watching a one of them die in a fire. Only thing worse then an extreme racist, is an extreme racist cop.

I wish I had the funds to start my own company......my job sucks a@@ also. So sick of dealing with stupid people all freaking day long!!!! What makes total stranger tell there insurance agent the life stories?

I'm in human resources, graduating this year, so it's gonna happen regardless. I've worked in an office for the last 1.5 years and it isn't too bad.

I think the key is to find a younger company...
 
I worked construction for a few years, and painted houses for a couple.

I'd prefer the office. That other shit kills your body...

Yeah, I guess you could be right. I have terribly incompetant coworkers.

I'm not a complete cocksucker but micro-manage type authority figures make me want to sever numerous jugulars.

Get used to it. You will NEVER escape idiot coworkers, bad managers and office politics. Best to learn how to turn it into opportunity for yourself and move on.

I agree. But I'm looking at this like a bad relationship. Either I can bail and move onto something better, or I can stick it out and be miserable.

It's really frustrating when you've made your mind up about wanting something different, but don't know exactly which way to go. That's where I am right now.

Then you're missing the "solution" option. Change YOUR perception of the situation. YOU are the only canstant in all of those situations. As I said, you will always have bad bosses, idiot coworkers, bad relationships, etc. Nothing will ever stop that. Now, if you change your perception and your approach and analysis of the situation....well, the situation now looks mighty different, doesn't it?

That'll be $250.

Okay, well it didn't sound like that. Your metaphor of a bad relationship sucked more than Frisky at 5 cent beer night.

And just to be a dick - it sounds like you are saying the situation makes the leader. In that case, we can ALL be leaders in the right environment. If you really are a leader, then fucking lead. Don't wait for someone to hand it to you, take the goddamn reigns and fucking steer that ship!

(that was my pep talk - I understand that certain work environments are just worthless)

Oh I'm with ya. I just have to make one of those big decisions (i.e. leave my cushy little job with nice pay and an office.)
