I-pod question, yes i know it's exciting

I have a shuffle that one of my clients bought it for me, it used to work and now it's dead. When I push the play button it blinks back and forth between the yellow and orange. What the hell is wrong with it?

If I hold it down and it's flashing green it then goes to orange when I hit the play button and vice versa. I have no idea what is wrong with it.

I think I know the problem, the link that DT put up explained it. Somehow by plugging my i-pod into a different computer my playlist got deleted. I will never own an i-pod again.

Ipods are tied in with a specific installation of iTunes, so you can't just go around connecting to all your friend's computers and stealing their music. It's not a bug...it's a feature.

This is a user option.

If you don't select the option to 'sync' with the iTunes library then iTunes will never mess with your iPod except as you specifically direct.

One of my roommates has i-tunes and he said he knew what he was doing. Apparently he didn't. He erased all my shit . He was trying to download stuff that was on files that weren't i-tunes.

Tell him to disable the auto-sync option. You should then be able to drag and drop files into the iPod.

I don't have my own computer, I have to use other people's USB's. It sucks being computer illiterate in terms of i-pods.
