how much did it run ya??
LOL@ at your reason to buy

$395 shipping included on Amazon.com. It was through one of their 3rd party vendors called Electronics Expo. The same model would cost me $530 with Sales Tax if I bought it at my local Best Buy or Circuit City. I can't wait until this thing arrives. I set up my Netflix account to send me HD DVDs.

good deal
Blu-Ray is going to kick ass in time though

Nice. Congrats.

I didn't think they were that cheap yet. Is it a good brand quality? My brother was just telling me they're still $1000+, but I haven't been following them.

He's in the process of buying a nice 61 in HDTV He's going to wait for the HD DVD players to go down in price but I don't think he knows about these prices.

Yeah I want to get one to to go with my HD plasma, pictues is amazing. I think I might just get the ps3 since that plays hd dvd's, just waiting until the price goes down

I saw a HD DVD player for under $500 in the sales paper over the weekend. I don't remember where though, but at least they are reasonable now.

The BluRay player is still $700-$1000 though.

bad idea to get watch porn in hd.. It looks nasty everything is so clear you can see every pimples everything.. just wait and see.. I like the old dvd porn

VHS porn is the way to go. Can't see ANY blemishes. Personally, I only watch VHS porn through a neighbor's (dirty) window.

Even goats and (limping) donkeys look good on that. Good shit.

I love porn.

i meant have they started making hd dvd's yet.. would like to see a 1080p picture..

1080P is way,way overhyped...The P is for progressive scan. ALL HD programming on cable/sat right now is in 1080i or 720P. There are currently NO plans to convert the programming to 1080P. Most people will not even see a difference between a 1080P video and a simliiar one in 1080i. And by the nature of the technology all flat panel TV's use progressive scan to display the picture.

Your 1080P HD-DVD will be just as gorgeous on a 1080i TV when compared to a 1080P TV.

The HD-DVD that sells in the $300-$600 price range is made by Toshiba and has been getting very good reviews. I've been sitting on the fence while waiting to see which format wins HD-DVD or Blu-ray. I don't know where the thread starter got the idea that the whole industry was backing HD-DVD..Blu--Ray has some major backers......
