Can Power cleans, on a regular basis, bring up my max bench press and raise my military press strenght?? If so, on what days can i incorperate them into my routine?

I dont have a problem with doin them, bout how effective are they?

and can they add bulk to my whole delt?

Oh, and, can i do them the same day as military press???

Please...anyone.....help me...:bawling: :bawling:

I don't think it's that people are igoring you, more as they don't know the answer to the question. Not many people, including myself, do power cleans in the gym. Keep this thread near the top and I believe bignate or CoolColJ can give you some insight into this.

sorry bro, I cant help, I dont do any olympic lifts

I've been doing far more shoulder presses of all sorts recently

Clean Presses didn't really bring my Max Bench UP BUT IT DID HELP A LOT ON PACKING MORE MASS ON MY SHOULDERS.

I had about the same weight you have and I can tell you that as soon as I started doing more "powerlifting" oriented exercise (Clean & Press, Deadlifts, Push Presses...) my mass started upping at a good rate.

Behind the neck presses work pretty good too for your shoulders

I found the best increase I ever had in bench press was when I started doing heavy weighted dips for tris

I'm not really sure how much they help you, as they're not a triceps movement, you should try the snatch instead

Unless your bench press was being held back by technique such as leg drive, which is a stretch to think power cleans would help, then I don't think they would directly bring up your bench. They would pack some mass on your shoulders, but, done correctly where you don't pull much with your arms, I don't think it would be significant enough to do them specifically for shoulders.

They might raise your military press strength due to some shoulder strengthening and better leg drive; if this is a strict press then, obviously, leg drive is not used. Once again, I have not heard of them used to increase your military press strength.

If you do do them, then whether or not you can do them on the same day as military presses depends on your technique. If you pull a lot with your arms, then it may tire your delts out for pressing. Try and see in this case.

Also, if you haven't received a reply to a specific question like this, please don't be a smart ass. Especially if it has not even been a day.

One thing you can do also is look where you are failing in the lift. Out of the bottom, mid-way, or lock-out.
Identifying that will help determine where your weakness is, and that will determine what lifts will help get you to your next PR.

the board is very very slow as of late. barely any traffic. trust me, i sit here most of the day and hit 'refresh' every 30 seconds or so. let's hope it picks up agian soon

What do I do to strengthen my bench and overhead press?

tate presses
jm presses
dbell tric extensions
speed bench
board preses
overhead press
accomodating resistance
chins
face pulls
dbell cleans for rotators
rows

That is about it...and it is working...

Im not failing at all, I just wanna get up to 365...Im at 335,
Maybe ill jsut do some negatives...they never failed me...:)

what he means is this:

your max is 335. when you do 345, you bring the bar down, and press it up, or try to anyways. does the bar stop right off your chest, in the middle, or towards the top?

never tried 345. i will this monday though...

I don't think powercleans are going to put on much size. Power cleans are used for more explosion for sports such as football. I used to do them all the time for college ball. Technique takes a lot of work to get down.
