I have a decision to make. I was offered the lead role in a production that wil be at Seven Stages in Atlanta. I was also offered my choice of roles(Lenny or George) in Of Mice and Men with my regular local group.

Of course the productions overlap and I have to chose.

Benefits to Atlanta show:

Lead Role
Seen in Atlanta
A little pay - but not much

Cons:

I would have to sing a short song, and I don't sing.... I could pull it off with some work as it is a twangy country tune and I have a tenor voice so it would be passable - barley

The script and character both are very weak and it would be difficuklt to be outstanding in the role(althoigh some very god actors got their start form crappy films, etc)

Benefits to local show:

Playing Lenny would be very challenging but it is a role I have wanted to do for a long time

Be with the same basic cast that I was with in Streetcar - I love those guys and the chemistry is outstanding

Less travel time

Cons:

Part of me needs to be in Atlanta to be seen by agents out there.

Less exposure.

I am considering doing the Mice show and sending out comp tickets to the agents in Atlanta to get them to come see our group.

What would you do and why?

Havoc - that's the problem.

I really don't KNOW which will take my career a step further....being good on larger stage or being fucking outstanding on a smaler stage

Well, from the sounds of things, you seem to be a bad ass at what you do, maybe do the more difficult part for you then, take your ass to Atlanta and sing Mr. Baritone.

That sounds like a good idea.....I also think respect as far as your loyalty to your current co-actors will be noted.

This is easy...go for Mice or Men, Play Lenny, you'll do great.
