I need recommendations for Blu-Ray movies

I just purchased a 46" Sony Bravia, 1080p, 240Hz LCD and a Sony home theatre system, sound bar with 6 multi-directional speakers and a giant sub-woofer...I also bought a PS3.

I got my Netflix membership, but their collection and resolution is not the best.

I need some advice on Blu-Ray movie to rent that would look GREAT in HD...both sound and picture.

Depends on what genre of movies you like but I've loved the following:

- Inception

- We Were Soldiers

- The Dark Knight

- A Christmas Carol (Animated w/ Jim Carrey)

- Gladiator

Excellent choice! That TV is, in my opinion, the best of the flat panel sets.

As far as blu ray ideas, I can't make any suggestions, but maybe go to Blockbuster (if there still is one near you), and check out what's there. But as far as really seeing what the TV is capable of doing, watch at least a few minutes of the Rose Parade on New Years Day. I know that maybe sounds lame, but it's the benchmark for the industry on color TV broadcast quality. It has been since 1954. That's where the try out the newest technology and HD camera equipment. Of course that's assuming you can get an HD TV signal over the air, as the DSS and cable won't be as good as a clean HD antenna signal.

Any major football game (or other sports event, or live news program, etc) will also be broadcast in the best HD, but that's hit & miss as to which ones will have which quality, and also how it's uplinked and downlinked if it's not a local game.

Gaming - GT5 ( Grand Turismo 5) racing game

Buy the prologic wheel and footpedals for around $100 or so, this game on your 1080P Sony will look unbelievable!!! Trust me, you will thank me later bro.

I personally have a 60" Pioneer Kuro 1080P Plasma only about a year or so old. Was priced at $6,800 at Best Buy, and bought it online through a real brick and mortar store that was also an authorized dealer for a smashing $4,700 bring home total!! I saved a little over $ 2,100 in real money.
I am 360% satisfied and happy with it!! Pictures are Unreal with blu-ray.
