i love you

my grandmother taught me to always say it when leaving to go any where or when your partner is leaving to go some where..you never know what may happen...it may be the last time you ever say it to him/her again

don't use it too much, the words will lose their meaning

but if a girl says it and means it, say it back (if you love them of course lolololololowootoomlololololololclowns)

nah... its better to let multiple people be saying it to you and you to none...

but if u with just one, and they say it... just say it if you feel it. if not let it be awkward for them for a few mins then do sex to her.

my .02

I won't say it just for the hell of it and never have when I've not meant it.

exactly

because it's yet another thing people do just "to do" instead of speaking from the heart

Love is a joke

bitterness consumes energy you can be directing towards something positive

and don't you muvgas confuse e-bitterness with real bitterness

It's not bitterness....it's fact!

I say that word multiple times a day, to my kids of course ;)

Never go a day without telling the ones you love that you love them.

Other than my family, I don't freely use those words.

It's not fact it's opinion and I have no idea how people wander through life being so cynical.

This is just your opinion on my fact.

Boy gets a piece of ass and suddenly he goes all cocky on us.

I didnt grow up saying it or hearing it every day or every so often, so its kinda weird when my husband leaves the house or aboutto hang up the phone saying "I love you" and I have to say it back, cause he would get a little cocky if I dont. I know he loves me and he knows I love him, but I think its better when I say it out of the blue - like when he driving and I sit next to him and look at his profile and just squeeze his hand and tell him "I love you sooo much"

well, I'd have to give this thread a C. It is an interesting subject to a degree, and has sparked a bit of deabte with varying opinions... but love is such a powerful subject - that more oculd have been made of a thread of this nature. Its not necessary, but by no means worthless.

They're just words. If you truly loved someone you wouldn't need to say it... they would already know based on your actions.

Foreigngirl said it best, if you want it to have the greatest effect, say it at times when it's not expected. Saying it then says that you're thinking of them at that given moment of non-significant time and can show that you may be thinking of them at many other times through the day, which if you're truly sincere, you probably are. Saying it when you leave off somewhere or stop talking to someone seems so much like a formality. Like it's the closing line to make sure that the people know each one loves the other.

I see it as a formality too. Just the same as saying bye

:) and I was getting worried that nobody read my post.

I only say it when I mean it ...if you are in a serious relationship do you have to say it all the time after you have said it a few times

if you do love someone, i dont see a problem with saying it

agreed ..but if you say it to them do you expect to hear it back

and after you have said it a few times do most people think somthing is wrong if you dont say it back

well if they love you, it doesnt matter, and if it humors you, like in a relationship, sometimes there are things you do that you dont always agree with
just say it

I have said it once... just blurted it out and then started choaking because I REALLY DIDN'T mean to say it...

And also say it to my kids everything we talk, even on the phone. Well yea, I told a salesman I loved him one time before I hung up. :worried:

I say it if I mean it....but don't expect to hear it back...I say it because I feel that way.....I have dated two guys that liked to say it once in awhile because it ment more that way when you said it......kinda control freaks if ya ask me

I say it when I mean it.

True story, my then gf (now wife) said it after the first date. She just sort of blurted it out and was embarassed. I was totally freaked out.

i only say it if I mean it... or feel it.. for me, that means two women in my entire life.

I don't really think about it, when I feel it I say it, I don't expect anything in return. When I'm told it and don't feel it back then I'll reply with a nice "ditto" just to be polite.

this happened right after the big O and that is why she said it

everything is clear to me now ..you hate men because you have only had 1 O and you are bitter

Ok, Patrick Swayze. Did you let Whoopie Goldberg say it for ya?

:lmao:

i was thinking the same thing

whatever, I bet you start using it

I have to confess... i've used it a time or three but not with the L word.

Only say it back to your woman if you mean it.

BUT, you can say it to any random woman if you are wanting/needing some quick kitty. But don't let her find out you don't mean it, remember Loraina Bobbett
