I kinda made a sled...

OK...i wanted to make a sled of some sort to run with so i took a plastic box filled it with a bunch of plates from one of my dumbbell sets so it weighed around 60-70 pds and dragged it around on the grass. I did some sprints with it as well.

Do i need more weight and will a set up like that do the job?

I have some of my dads fishing weights which could help.;)

Sounds good to me. I made a sled in my grandpa's shop, but many do not have access to a welder. So use what you can find. The most I drag is 90 lbs. But I need to drag the sled more often. I am a slacker. If I cared as much about my squat and dead as I do my bench, I would probably be dragging a sled 3 or 4 times per week. You definately should drag it as much as possible and from many different angles for football.

I was thinking that their is no reason why you can't just take a plate and cinch a rope onto it through the hole. It would mess up the plate a little to drag on pavement but on grass could be smooth. YOu could also put as many plates together as needed.
Just a thought.

I have a wooden sled that I put together a while ago. I'll try to post some pictures of it later. I don't have any plates, so I've been using concrete blocks, but I think I need to find a way to add more weight.

Today i am going to make my boards for the board press. ;)

I think i will try to post some pictures eventually as well. I need a new rope though because the stupid one i used broke. I wear my belt and loop the rope around the back and so it feels more comfortable. Does anyone else do this?

Have any of you tried dragging a car or truck using a homemade harness and ropes? I do this about two times a week as park of my strongman training and also when training for a powerlifting contest.

You simply attach a thick rope to the car, adjust the handbrake lever up to the selected level, get into the harness and start pulling. There are many different ways of doing this to work all the important muscle groups. You'll find that pulling the car without the handbrake engaged is ridiculously easy so you've gotta play with the tension.

A buddy of mine put a hole in an old tire and drags it for his sled. Works for him.

I love to push/pull my truck!!!!
