I still have a 5 year degree in psychology bish, I've had patients, my own practice and have been a substance abuse counselor, so fuck off
In 2008 I started my PhD is clinical neuropsychology with the university of salamanca in Spain, back then you could jump from a licensure (my degree, which is more then a bachelor's) to a PhD. I completed all coursework and credits, missing thesis.
I put the whole thing on hold to move to FL. In 2010 the European union changed education requirements and no longer allows the jump, you must have a master now, so I pretty much have a locked in PhD until I get a masters
Don't Ph.Ds take minimum about 5 or so years though? So even once you start and finish a Masters, won't you probably have about 3 years to go to finish the Ph.D?
My Psy.D is going to take about 4 or so years from the time the Master's was finished, and I think a Ph.D takes slightly longer.
You should look into a Psy.D though if that's the case. Slightly shorter, still a doctorate, and it's geared toward more practical uses than research and whatnot.
