Jesus doesn't like motorcycles.

He told me so.

See that's just the thing, I'm also a huge Jeep fan. I own a '83 CJ7 and a '99 Cherokee, the wife owns a '01 TJ. On a nice summer day I'd almost rather be out in my CJ than on the bike. I drive towards the middle of PA with a map, a GPS, a lot of food and a thermos of ice water, ready to explore back roads that time has forgotten. When I find a lonely power line trail or logging road, then I'm not stuck on the bike wishing I had a 4x4 to explore away from civilization. I can't count the number of times I've been on the Harley on some lonely back road when I stumble across a logging road, wishing I had the Jeep instead.

I've never been in an accident or a near accident in the CJ. I almost got smeared twice last year on the bike. I love to ride, but it's becoming more of a chore than passion when I have to keep a constant vigil for EVERYONE ELSE on the road.

If I get killed or hurt then oh well, but if the wife gets killed or hurt because of some bitch in a minivan on her cell phone, then I am going to jail because that cunt is getting slaughtered.

Kinda takes the fun out of riding...

Forge,

Bro it is up to you if you like offroading then that is your bag and you should do it. Just curious how long have you been riding? Also have you tried dirt bikes. Now that is alot of fun. Then you get to ride places that jeeps can't even go and the best part is there ain't no damn women in mini vans talking on the phone in deep wood trails. :D

I had a few dirt bikes when I was younger, they were actually my first bikes. When I turned 18 though I got my motorcycle license and bought my first street bike. Been riding ever since.

Similarly, I've also been offroading since I learned to drive at 16. My first car was a Nissan Sentra, got her stuck several times.:D I bought a used Bronco II the week I graduated college. Had that for two months until I realized it wasn't gonna do what I wanted it too, then I got the CJ and have had it ever since.

I plan on keeping the Harley until I test drive one of the new '05 Stangs. I sold my Z28 when I got married and bought the house, and have regretted it ever since. If I like how the Stang drives, I just may sell the bike and get another sports car.

Honestly I didn't ride much last year anyway (compared to how I used to ride). I think when my one buddy died to no fault of his own it just sort of hit me hard. Riding hasn't been the same ever since...:worried:

Sorry to hear about your friend that sux. I hope his family is well taken care of now. I really need to get better life insurance for my wife. I love her to death but she is an idiot with money.

CJs are bad ass. I did the 4 wheel'n thing when I was a teenagaer. I could out mud anything except maybe a land cruizer they were just as good as my cj.

As far as your riding goes. Just wait and see. I bet money if you sell it you will buy another one within 3 years. I know I have done it 5 times now.
