I have strep throat

Ugh this shit is seriously the worst I have felt in years...

I cant sleep at night cause I'm up all night coughing, my throat is swollen and just hurts like a bitch.

I have this thick mucus (lung butter) that Ive been blowing out my nose and its even coming out of my tear ducts bluring my vision.

I just gargled with a saline solution and that seemed to help out a lot as far as calming my throat down.

Does anyone have any good suggestions to making me feel better? (PS. I am prescrbied anti-biotics and some vicodin cough syrup-which doesnt knock me out as muxh as it should

heya. go to your doctor and get him to inject you with antibiotics along with your oral dose. the way it goes is that you can only take 1500mg a day or so of the one youre likely on by mouth, but if you inject it, you can absorb 3000mg in one hit, then continue taking the 1500mg by mouth...meaning you effectively get 2-3 days ahead in terms of blood concentration of drug, and really wipe out the strep.

also, take all of the over the counter painkillers NOW, and tell your doctor that they dont work. your doc will likely then prescribe something harder than aspirin/acetominophen/ibuprofen (like...morphine ) which will really help kill the pain, because really, strep throat pain is unconquerable with normal over the counter stuff.

if you get decent relief from over the counter stuff then of course, dont ask for the harder drugs. your doc is going ot be pretty reluctant either way though, so good luck.

i didnt eat for a couple of days when i had strep. i was so desperate for calories i made a smoothie out of calamari and rice. oooooohhhh yyyyeeeaaaahhhhh

That sucks.....Ive gotten the stuff from my kids a couple times. A day or so of antibiotics will help ! garrgle with salt water and take some pain meds until then

My face is puffy cause my neck is swollen, and my eyes are puffy cause of the odd gunk they're producing.

That anti-biotic injection sounds like a good idea though.

yeah thats what i thought youd be on. strep throat is fucking horrible, i totally feel for you. poor bastard. im not much of a sick day taker (id rather work when im sick, and take sick days when im healthy so i can stay home by the pool ) but strep throat knocked me on my ass. i was in an aircon dark room in and out of sleep for a good 4 days total. i went NOWHERE.

then when i was dosed up on morpine i went to my mates bucksnight, which is where i learned why people drink beer when theyve taken morphine....half a beer (there was nothing non alcoholic to drink lol) with morph is better than any alcohol high ive ever, ever had.
