could we look into a VET anabolic board, where you must have spent at least a year at EF (perhaps special additions could be made: posters such as nelson.)

This would help weed out newbies repeat questions and posts asking for sources. I hope with people such as EF Sam this question can be answered with some sincerity.

how does it defy the point of EF? You come here for a year, learn and read from past posts, educate yourself like I did...

then in due time you get the privlidge of entering a more vet laden board. Plus there will still be vet mods on the anaboard.

AF is nice, I am a member there but EF is my home

I like the idea, but george would lose a LOT of people if he did that as the newbies would go away if they saw no vets answered their questions.

Or give them sources

i think george tried something like this once before,it ended up become the platinum membership if i'm not mistaken.

I agree actually I was thinkin about that today. I rarely see thread on something I havent seen before. it would suck because i wouldnt be in yet but I usually answer all my questions through searches anyways and only ask questions when I cant find an answer. You'd just end up with the vets getting a million pm's though.

it does not take a year to ask an intelligent question. you could have some guys on for three years and they would still ask stupid questions. or you can have brand new people that are a wealth of info. That is like saying just because you are older than someone you will some how be more mature than them. Nope it depends on the person.

The whole point behinf your idea is good. But this would turn the anabolic board into a "teen board"....

The whole point of these boards are for people to ask questions...and for other members to help them out.

We were all newbies once. A board like that would seem kinda hypocritical.

definately need a FAQ section...

i think its more of a neccessity then vanity issue here

I'm with The Almighty. If that happened the newbies would essentially be cut off and not have the opportunity to grow knowledge-wise. As much as everyone hates it, newbie questions will always be there and IMO there should always be a vet there to help them. I understand about the independant research, however, to some it's just more reassuring to hear suggestions from a vet in real time as opposed to reading some old posts.

High: Good idea, but ultimately discriminatory. It's the reason the platinum board is a flop. A good party consists of a mix of personalities. You don't want one board of people floundering and another of just vets talking nothing but highly technical stuff. Besides, if I had to start out as a "newbie" when I was new to the board, I never would have stayed.

I must confess, I sometimes ignore banal questions, but sometimes those threads turn into something interesting.

I liked the idea of a "best post of the month" and maybe having a reprise of it would be interesting.

Actually, it may not be a bad idea if someone must be a member for a year before they can request a source.

That is an excellent idea but as for the rest, it would be discriminatory. I for one would leave immediately.

The vets are what make this board the best IMO. Segregation would ruin it for me. :(

GotFina.com has a newbie board with FAQ sticky's and it doesn't seem to take away from the board or scare people away.

And they have a choice as to which board they want to go to- they aren't not allowed to post on the regular board.

i'm a newbie myself but i can totally understand some of you vets' concerns regarding repeated questiond.

the solution is quite simple. reply to such post with:

"click on the SEARCH option and you will find many answers to your question. welcome aboard"

I dont think that that is a good idea. If anything, but in a newbie forum. That is very true that one of the most educated people can be new to the board, while others could have been on for a year and not be half as knowledgable as others. It is not really a time served issue. FAQ area would be a great idea.

Perhaps when a newby joins, a FAQ sheet can be included in a mail out via e-mail and same with a steroid/chemical profiles page, and maybe some examples of some very common cycles from newbie to advanced. You need the mix of experiece to make a successful board.

I trolled this board for about three years before I posted my first message. Even though I was experienced and knowledgable, I felt that it was important to learn first and then contribute second. I have been writing regularly on pertinent subjects for almost two years. There is a great deal of repetition and a great deal of dispute--or just differences of philosophy. For the novice or intermediate, it is sometimes difficult to separate out the fact from the fiction..the scientific study from the anecdotal evidence. There is no one right answer to many questions; even the hard facts are debated. What's important is to get a solid background first, so one is able to sort through everything and get it to make sense.

I started a thread like these before a couple of months ago and there were some people for it......I think it would be a great Idea for a newbie board for at least three months. Then they can graduate to vets board.

Word!

I've basiclly given up on posting on the anabolic board. There is a handfull of vets who do nothing but flame the newbies on here and their so called 'VET WISDOM' is nothing more than regurgitation of other peoples words. It's sad...
