So anyway, check this out.

The IT guy in work (there's 3, but this one is assigned to my building) comes by my desk every morning. He's my age and talks in a low voice that makes everything he says sound sexual.

except lately, everything he says IS sexual.

like the other day, he said that 'john' kicked him when he was under 'mary's' desk. I said, 'what were you doing under her desk??'
he laughed and said he was moving something, then said, "... I was moving her labia with my TONGUE!"

i said, "TMI!"
but later he told me he had some software to install on my computer. I was happy about it and he said, "does that turn you on?"

One other time he told me he was going home to have a quicky with his wife at lunch.

I'm not offended or bothered by any of that, but it's not very professional. I haven't contributed to the conversation like that at all. My company has no sexual harrassment policies in work, no standards, nothing, despite us being ISO certified and having around 600 employees world wide.

Should I ignore it? Talk to Human resources but leave out his name so i don't get him in trouble?

I can move my big toe independantly from the others. only on one foot though.

I would suggest, but when I talked about how I finally got my company to make a sexual harrassment policy, the aholes in here bashed me
All I can say is, tell him to stop or else!

well this is my thread and you're free to speak openly.

tell me.

(i'm not even sure i want sexual harrassment policies. what if i get reprimanded???)

Stand next to him and turn real quick like while knocking his ass out with your boulder sized boobies...Lol Bad image thanks a lot!!!!
No really first off try talking to him, tell him that it is bothering you and the behavior is unprofessional, then if he does not stop contact someone else and let them know that he is acting in a manor that should be done outside of work!

Oh, one time i guess my headlights were on and he said, 'you're gonna knock someone's eye out with those things.'

funny, yes, but not professional.

I work for a very large co. which is still a family run biz. It's very much a "boys club" here. Out of 1500 employees, there is only ONE female manager.
This company has been in biz for 57 yrs and only created an HR dept when they went public 7 yrs ago.

When I started working here, some men spoke very sexual to me but I never made an official complained b/c I too was fearful of losing my job.
In retrospect, I would not have feared losing my job or being reprimanded. I regret not standing up for myself.
When I went to my boss's boss to complain about the comment my boss made asking me if I would "suck his cock if I was not working for him", I was told by his boss (THIS IS NO JOKE)...."Oh Ken is just frustrated cause his wife is fat and she never gives him sex, just ignore him"
I went to HR on a few occasions and they basically ignored me.
Then one day, they "laid off" this woman and she sued the company. She claimed sexual harassment as well.
That's when the government finally got involved. They came in with their lawyers and started to question many people. I was interviewed 3 different times by lawyers (for both sides).
The company was found guilt and they were FORCED to hire a full time lawyer to run the HR dept (she's the only female manager I was talking about) and they were forced to write up a sexual harassment policy.
The lady who sued won!
Ok so having said this long drawn out story, what I’m saying is, I’m happy the policy was implemented, but really, sexual harassment is still prevalent here.
It's really a long process to get a policy in place and unless it's a continual thing, there is no point in fighting for one.
Most harassment policy encourage the employee who is being “harassed” to address the person first, then if it continues to make a complaint.
If I were you, I would send the guy an email (for proof) advising him that his conduct and words are NOT appreciated. If he continues, advise your boss. What I've learned; when you take the abuse (as I did at first) men will think its ok to continue to talk to you like this. They really don't view their words as harassment until you tell them to stop.
Really, most men see their sexual innuendo as harmless banter, so sometimes addressing it makes them see clearly.

that's interesting, thank you.

i'm not going to talk to him because the truth is, none of it bothered me, but that doesn't mean the company doesn't need SOME sort of policy in place. I'd actually not like to see this guy get in trouble, and one day, it might.

Id probably ignore comments like that depending on the person. if i found myself creeped out by it, i would make facial and non verbal expressions obvious that what he is saying is cleary neither funny or appropriate. hopefully he would get the hint without me having to reprimand or scold him.

After the next comment, just say "Please...... (slight pause)... let's keep things professional here." Very straight face, no grins, or blowjob hand jestures.

This shouldn't offend him or make it seem like you're pouncing on him, berating him for saying what he says. If he doesn't get it with that simple remark, then he probably does deserve further action later on.

Try putting a bear in his back seat or desk drawer.

i wonder if the blowjob hand gesture, combined with my habit of contiuously putting my tongue into my cheek gave him a bad impression of me?
