I hate when people do that little bounce while exercising.

What a bunch of assholes. 99% of the people at the gym do that. When they are standing doing lateral raises or bicep curls, they do that little bounce with their calves and knees at the end of the movement cheating themselves. I wonder if they realize that or it just comes natural... :evil:
 
And of course they do this like 2 feet from the mirror, blocking everyone else from the dumbells and making little hissing noises.
 
How exactly does that 'cheat' your muscle? Does your bicep know your calf moved.

I did arms today, and while curling the 60's I had a small bounce. No one said anything. I think I was blocking the DB rack the entire time.

Sorry, but bouncing is fine once you have a decent base. On isolation exercises load is more important the form. Not that swinging shit up is good, but a small bouce recieving the weight is fine, IMO.
 
uhhh...a slight bounce or momentum sway is needed when doing heavy barbell curls or heavy side laterals. sounds like you are watching people possibly do the exercise correctly.
try doing side laterals with 60s or 70s and not "bouncing".
stop complaining and concentrate on doing YOUR THING.

my point is sometimes the bounce is neccessary. especially when training heavy and hard. the 'bounce' at the top of the side lateral movement is also neccessary. the little duck under with your neck. quit nit picking.

I f-ing hate that. Especially when people are doing something like rear delts w/ dumbbells and are just bent over with their heads like 2 inches from the dumb bell racks. YOURE NOT EVEN HOLDING ONTO THE RACK!!! CAN'T YOU JUST BACK UP 3 FEET?! HAVE SOME CONSIDERATION F-CKERS!

Sorry bro....I add a little bounce to my reps....its called explosiveness.....if you are just standing flat footed your not trying hard enough.

Dude if you're sacrificing form because of the heavy weight, there's a simple reason for that. YOU ARE PUTTING TOO MUCH WEIGHT AND YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT. Of course doing laterals with 60's without bouncing is impossible BECAUSE IS THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT. Simple as that. Instead of bouncing and cheating at the same time, lower the weight and execute strict form so you will not end up looking like a gorilla after years and years of training.

Now how the cheating works? somebody asked above. Well, when you're doing lateral raises, you lift your arm let's say until is parallel to the floor. Those 5-10 last degrees are the hardest part of the exercise and gives to the shoulder the maximum contraction. What these assholes do? well they lift their arms 5-10 degrees below the finish line, and at that point they flex their knees so their bodies go down while keeping the dumbells at the same height, so at that point the arms get parallel to the floor. And NO you are not using your shoulders to do that; when you do that fast as they do, you are using pure gravity. But their friends say "ohh...my nigguh is strong!!" and that's more important for those freaks. :rolleyes:
 
nothing's worse than the idiot who hisses like a snake or has to let out that "shwoooooooooooo" every rep..i just wanna go over there and bust a 25lb db on their head.
 
most of the top bodybuilders in the world must be assholes seeing how I have seen so many do this in thier videos. But what do they know

you want to talk about me using too much weight and or what i cant handle. i will put my physique up against yours any day and we will see who looks like they know what they are doing.
i hope you never get to a plateau....because you will never EVER be able to get past it without training heavier and more intense.
YES, there are some fools who use way too much weight and are ignorant and obnoxious....but don't ASSUME that since someone like myself is capable of using that kind of weight to better their physique..that i am doing too much.

HAve you ever seen a Dorian vid (or any other monsters BB vid for that matter) where he isn't using some momentum.

Lateral raises are for pussies anyway. Presses build shoulders, and you can't cheat them. Same w/ Squats, Deads, Cleans, etc...do them wrong, or 'cheat' and your hurt. Bicep curls, rope press downs, reverse pec dec fag presses...whatever one likes to do when they are done w/ their real lifting, IMO, form is not that important. Load, however, is...as is progression.

I train in the same gym as Lee Priest, and see him train a lot. He swings some. The only people that I see NEVER swinging are the bitches...and that is not a joke.

core work is alot more important than some iso jerkoff workout is what Al is getting at, so go ask a true bodybuilder what he'd rather live with.
 
How the hell did this crap get transfered to the weight training board from steroids??? let them do all the lateral raises they want!
 
I am a runner and I hate when I see other "joggers" come to an intersection and run in place as if that is going to keep their hear rate up and as if their heart rate would come down that much in the 30 seconds they need to wait at the light. - posers.....

I'm going to have to agree. Especially if you 'run the rack'...b/c that is about as pussy as it gets. If you can even still walk after your done pressing I don't think we can be friends.

I agree man! I have seen I think 2 people do it now. Every single light rep they do the dance.

I let out a slight hissing sound while chasing al around the gym trying to get him to pet my 'hissing cobra'

I also bounce on a swiss ball between sets like it's a giant space hopper, it builds up my core stability wonderfully
