I hate rest days.

It's my day to rest and I hate it because I want to go push some weight sooo bad!! But I know I shouldn't because this is recovery day.
 
I love em... Sometimes I even skip school on off days just to eat, sleep, watch movies, play videos games, ect... Off days are like holidays for me.

I hear ya! Today is my "off" day too...don't know what to do with myself so I'm going shopping! For food and a rosin bag...damn straps!

...well, I did go to a 5 AM spin class this morning, but that just isn't the same as lifting! ;)
 
lol sometimes i won't go to school if i didn't sleep enough the night before and i feel it will effect my lifting :rolleyes:

i should stop doing that.

Hahaha ya I know what you mean. I go to bed so early. Like 9pm (i wake up at 6am) because if I don't I feel all guilty that I am not giving myself enough rest.

My friends haze me about it constantly :)
 
days off= the buffet

I can't get enough of the garlic chicken and crab legs:p

Just relax and eat and grow, watch pumpin Iron or Blood and guts, then before the gym the next day watch Ronnie's film. You'll go back with intesnity

Hah, Yea im eating a bowl of tuna (with bbq sauce, cayenne pepper) right now and watching pumping iron!!

Shit I've done that a few times and I think, "thank god i'm here sweating bullets having a great workout instead of being half asleep in algebra.

Anyway, I hate rest days. Not that I'm a great bodybuilder or anything but I just can't resist lifting weight.
 
I can't stand them either. I'm having a rare rest day today, and for once I'm enjoying it. My body isn't in the mood for working out today and needs to be refueled.
 
Just think of your "Rest days" as "Growth days". Its the time that you get rewarded for all that hard work.

I hate rest days too, because I always seem to have more energy on my workout days. Even so, I consider rest days as my "payment" for hopefully a long future of great injury-free workouts.
 
Rest days do suck.

My program now is one day on, one off, so I get lots of rest days. But I can feel how tight my muscles are from the day before all the time on this program, which makes me want to go use them :)

Even if I could just run across the street and do a max deadlift I'd feel better :)

How often do most of you take rest days?

I try and go Monday, Tuesday, rest Wednesday, on again Thursday, Friday, and hopefully Saturday. Rest on Sunday.
 
yup, i HATE rest days too, unless it happens to be the day after i have done some self-mutilation (see: good mornings). but i usually do some kind of lifting throughout the whole week, whether it be recovery/rehab/etc.
 
Check out the active recovery sticky at the top of the page. Spatts posted some great info with good instruction.

I think it would help keep you active enough on your off days and might cut down your urge to push around weights.
