I hate going to the mall.... anyone else?

so i'm walking around today looking for what i need.... i start to think to myself as i'm goin down the escalator "god this sucks, im gonna see someone i know here it never fails"

i walk about 500 steps and somone yells out "hey [name]"

i say fuck, stop, and turn around

it was this girl from high school, working a red cross booth or something, she goes hey remember me? blah blah "hey donate a dollar"

i was seriously sweating this, as i didnt even know her name. i had no clue what to say to her...

i give her a dollar, and she wants to too fill out some wish thing, i'm like uuuh i have no wish, you can do it for me

luckily i had a dollar, and could bail quite easily

i just hate running into people like that

LOL, I hate that too. Especially because you never run into a good friend, it's always that person from high school you don't really know, but you recognize.. then you have that awkward small-talk.. "So.. what are you doing now?"

That can be funny...parents yelling at their kids, pissed off girl/boy friends....whatever.

I guess it's not so much the "running into someone you know" part that's bad, it's the "running into someone you know IN the mall" that blows.

It's busy, you're carrying heavy bags, it's hot, there's people bumping you, strollers blocking the aisle, long check out line ups, and you really just want to run in, get what you need and get out, not stop and make idle chit chat..
