I Hate Body Hair!

Whether I shave or wax (especially shave) I get these nasty red bumps everywhere...they look a lil like ingrown hairs sometimes. OMG, it looks like when I guy does a really bad shave on his face and breaks out. No matter if I uuse shaving cream or not, this always happens. what do I do??? any advice?????

1) Make sure your razor is new and sharp
2) Don't shave "against" the hair growth (under arms or in bikini area)
3) I've heard that using a solid deodorant on these areas after shaving will prevent the bumbs - although I'm not sure because I don't experience this issue
4)Sometimes UV exposure will help. I had a client who told me that she HAD to go to the tanning bed or she would get the bumps. NOT every day....but a couple of times a week.

Hope these help you a little bit!

A stripper told me about using an antipersperant to help keep skin good after shaving.

I find that using baby oil is best for sensitive areas but if you're using it for pubic hair, you gotta make sure you wash it off very well from your inner labia or you may get a yeast infection.

Don't shave against the grain, I try to shave horizontally instead.

I like the Venus razor best but I like one that I've used a couple of times best. I tend to get ingrowns if the razor is brand new.

My hair grows fast and I usually shave every day.

Make sure you're completely dry before getting dressed and wearing cotton right after shaving helps allow your skin to breathe.

If you can afford it, get it lasered. I am finishing up with laser facial hair removal (have had fantastic results!) and will go for the bikini area next.

Stash away extra money and get laser hair removal....I've done my entire legs, bikini area, and underarms.

Totally worth it for me. :)

Hiya

Hope you don't mind me asking you about this . . . Just wondering how long it took for you to have your legs done. Did they do it all in one go? And was it painful at all?

Yes, the can do your whole legs at once. It may take 1 hour or so to do my legs. I only have a touch-up done once a year now.

I don't think it is painful. Sometimes, they blow cold air on your legs to help with the laser and that bugs me more.

How much does this service cost, if you don't mind my asking?

My dermatologist said that shaving with a single blade razor will reduce irritation and ingrowns since the hair isn't pulled below the skin's surface like it is with multiple blade razors.

o.k I personally don't have that problem, but I had a friend who did and what she used was called "coochie cream" sounds nasty I know, however it can be found in sex magazines or like porn stores, for example I think Adam and Eve advertise in their catalog, I think it is ADAMANDEVE.COM. You can use it all over your legs, arms and yes even the more personal areas. You may want to even just try soaking in really hot water first, if you don't want to try the cream. Think about it, warm compresses help bring out blackheads and things, so why not ingrown hairs? Good luck, let me know what works for you.
