I got pulled over the year after high school for trying to ditch the cops.
My buddy and I were going to the casino. I was going about 10 over on the highway, and saw a cop go by. He tapped the breaklights, then went around a corner. I thought, well I really don't want another ticket (already had 2 on my record I think), so I turned down some country road that eventually ended up at someone's farmhouse. I tried to turn my car around, but it was winter and I had bad traction. So I get stuck.
While I'm trying to get unstuck to no avail, low and behold, the cops pull up. Oh shit I thought. Well I can't do anything now, so I just wait. Then, to my surprise, the cop who was driving turned out to be the son my old babysitter of 5 or so years. He knew me instantly. Asked me if I knew the people at the house, which I didn't. Then he asked if I knew it was a felony to elude the police, which I didn't at the time.
I think I kept trying to get my car unstuck while they were checking my records, or I just sat thinking that I don't want to go to the casino anymore, or both-can't really remember that part well.
In the end I just got a ticket since he said he knew me for so long, and he said I was on my own with getting my car unstuck.
I got it unstuck right after they left. Somehow, I think it was meant to happen that way.
