i got nabbed surfing elite!!

LOL, I got busted for "Boobs", "butts" & "bikini babes" by my manager, but she wasnt mad or anything, i was just hella embarresed

Kiss up to the office techie-nerd-guy. Give him a bottle of booze for Christmas, with a card telling him how much you appreciate all he does to keep things running smoothly at work. Then, when you get back from holidays....he'll be happy to give you a work-around so that you can surf outside of the monitoring software managers may look at. Only way you could be caught after that would be to have your manager/boss actually see the screen...

If you're plat you can log in the stealth way. The ef site is blocked at work but I can get in through stealth and it's fine...and not listed as ef on my computer.

That is pretty slick!

When you go Platinum, you get access to the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards Stealth Web Address! Ever want to screw your boss by surfing the elitefitness.com Discussion Boards at work and not get caught? Want to really screw with him and the company Systems Administrator too? Now it's easy, because Discussion Boards members will be able to access the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards not only from boards.elitefitness.com, but also from the new stealth URL www.ExpertPcSupport.com.

If your boss checks your PC or your office's access logs, all he'll see is that you were getting help with your PC at www.expertpcsupport.com. But you were really surfing the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards using the expertpcsupport.com stealth web address.

The ExpertPCSupport.com home page looks like this:

"The goal of Expert PC Support is to help users troubleshoot and solve their computer problems, as well as help them practice good computer maintenance. Find free device drivers, technical support, installation guides, and other troubleshooting information for all your computer needs." Ha Ha Ha, who are we kidding? Only you and the Platinum Members will know!

Hell yeah! I use the dummy website from work too! :)

For all the good it does. The wording in the browser title and the Windows taskbar still says Elite Fitness Discussion.

hmm, perhaps they should have it open the discussion boards within a frame on a website with a phoney title.

It doesn't take rocket science for them to change what appears in the title. It's part of the html code.

It would most likely be easier to do what the one guy said, have it in a frame with a phoney title... their current setup leads to beleive that if the title was changed on the expertpcsupport.com link it would be changed on the elitefitness.com one also

<title>Expert PC Support</title>

in the html code is all it takes. There has to be some of cgi or PHP include statement that could change the title based on the url entered.
I hate framed websites.

What happens when your companies I-T guy sees that you spend over 4 hours of your work day EACH days surfing a PC repair site?...It would look fishy imo after just a few days (plus you should be an expert on PC repair after as much time as I put in here...:D ). If I spent 30 hours a week on a PC repair site then I would be the companies I-T guy...not some other technie nerd (I would be the technie nerd lol :D )

George ... that is great ... I have been a platty for quite some time and didnt even know about this.

This is a great feature ... BUT ... like everyone says it still says elite fitness on the title bar, which would make this ineffective for me. Is there a way we can put in a request to have this corrected? That would make it worthwhile. I dont think that this would be a hard problem to fix. What do you think?

Don't listen to some of these people. You have to ask yourself the question "how much do I value my your job?" Even if you get 'admin' privledges and an surf "off the radar" so to speak, you could always get caught by someone looking over yor shoulder or someone telling on you. They just caught you. Do you think they won't be montitoring your Internet usage in maybe one than one way?

I am sure that you can find other websites that your company deems unobjectionable or acceptable. You can go without Elitefitness for the 8 - 9 hours a day you are at work. I am also sure that there are plenty of other websites you can check out here and there for 5 or 10 minutes at a time, a few times during the day that won't get you fired.

Once you are caught doing something considreed "wrong" you have a choice to make. Do you risk doing it again and risk getting written up or even fired? I see it as a choice between either your job or The Internet. I say you should chose your job.

Let's face it; most companies are not very understanding or at all forgiving when it comes to their "e-policies" especially with Internet and e-mail usage. Corporate America has gotten very extreme with this in the last few years and has gone way overboard.

I get caught once in a while. I usally check the boards for a minute or two here and there, no big deal since I bust my ass all day long, but what usually gets me busted is the tits and ass that are in the ad at the top or the avatars. Fuck' em all !!!! My boss sits at his desk and does his fantasy football and baseball crap all day anyway.
