I got Cancer again.

Bro,
That is a terrible thing. But, just remember, everyone here wishes you a speedy recovery and wish you the best of luck.

Good luck and great fortune!!!

Sorry to hear about the news. Just remember that life is just one big test of our faith and our will to live. Use that same determination that has led you in your pursuit of building a better physique and incorporate that into climbing this new mountain in your life that you must face. You will beat this and you will become a better man for it. Adversity in our lives divides us all into two groups of people. It divides us into those who will face life's challenges with nothing but the thirst of victory in our hearts to succeed and conquer that which is ours, life, so that we might become stronger mentally and physically with every passing day and every challenge met. It divides everyone else into a life of content where they settle for what they have because their fear of the unknown and of adversity keeps them hidden from the greatest joys in life. You can not find joy if you have not found pain my friend, because to suffer and to live through the hardest and most trying of times means that you will look upon everything in your life in a new view, and you will appreciate the things that others, who have not see your pain, can not appreciate because they have no base for comparison. You have friends here my friend, because we are all from a different mold and we must stick together. You are going to be fine no matter what the outcome of this is my brother, because that is the type of man you are. If you would ever like to talk to anyone, feel free to write me at my email address in my profile. Good luck my friend, and our prayers are with you.

I am relaxed... I am having time off work.. I have read about alternative ways of treating cancer in young people.... I think that I can get more effective treatment. I shall ask/suggest...

Thanks for everything you have all said.

But dudes.. no worries.. the worst case scenario is loss of bladder. The cancer is too small to be life threatening - so I am lucky (1 in 5 cancer deaths is bladder cancer).. haven't had kidney results back yet - but have no reason to believe that they are going to infected (I have had no pain).

From what I have read - if I have check-ups every 4 months.. and maybe even chemo every 3 months - I could fend off cancer recurrence for many years. The goal is to fend it off indefinately.

My diet is suddenly very clean! No more joints - so I guess I am going to have a very clear head. Got my operation in 3 weeks.. scared of ops.. but again thinking about tuesday 'slaps me' for thinking like a baby.

I shall still be a visitor to the board - but not much over the coming weeks - I got bike riding and looking for a new job to do (decided that I need a change from university researcher...)

It aint going to get the better of me... I am on its case.

But all of your words have really helped.

Sorry for using the anabolic discussion space.

When I read some stuff I scare the shit out of myself...

But hey, Radical cystectomy is not due me - and hopefully never will be.

Shit - now I am letting on that secretly I am a bit scared.

I aint gonna post in this thread anymore.. just wanted to reveal that I am ok, happy that I can be ok.. but occassionally terrified when I read stuff that gets me thinking......

Surgery is a common treatment for bladder cancer. The type of surgery depends largely on the stage and grade of the tumor. The doctor can explain each type of surgery and discuss which is most suitable for the patient:
Transurethral resection: The doctor may treat early (superficial) bladder cancer with transurethral resection (TUR). During TUR, the doctor inserts a cystoscope into the bladder through the urethra. The doctor then uses a tool with a small wire loop on the end to remove the cancer and to burn away any remaining cancer cells with an electric current. (This is called fulguration.) The patient may need to be in the hospital and may need anesthesia. After TUR, patients may also have chemotherapy or biological therapy.

Radical cystectomy: For invasive bladder cancer, the most common type of surgery is radical cystectomy. The doctor also chooses this type of surgery when superficial cancer involves a large part of the bladder. Radical cystectomy is the removal of the entire bladder, the nearby lymph nodes, part of the urethra, and the nearby organs that may contain cancer cells. In men, the nearby organs that are removed are the prostate, seminal vesicles, and part of the vas deferens. In women, the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and part of the vagina are removed.

Segmental cystectomy: In some cases, the doctor may remove only part of the bladder in a procedure called segmental cystectomy. The doctor chooses this type of surgery when a patient has a low-grade cancer that has invaded the bladder wall in just one area.

In this situation it is really hard, I know because my uncle is in the same boat. If you need any help bro just let me know

My god Gary, there are no words for it

what can one say? I don't know. There is no way we can help you.
Just hoping everything turns out right for you.

Not scared again... now finding the less scary and more positive stuff to read:

Milk, Vitamin A, andVitamin D are thought to reduce the risk of bladder cancer by one-half. Early detection of new bladder cancer, and prompt treatment, will reduce death from this disease.

Bladder Cancer occurs in many different forms and it's proper treatment can be confusing for both the doctor and patient. While removal of the bladder was the historic treatment for any bladder tumor invading muscle, today new treatment options most often allow the bladder to be saved, with no decrease in patient survival.

Anyway, I return the discussion to roids...................

It is nice to see concern and brotherhood amongst people that really don't know each other...

i can relate to your problem, as back in 1981 i also had 2 tumors removed from my bladder, worst case scenario was this: loss of bladder, prostate, and testicles. i got lucky bro, i only lost the dome of my bladder. i have a checkup once a year still, and ive been clean every time so far. my prayers are with you, and i wish you the best, if i can help you in any way, drop me a line.
