I dropped my phone

in my bathtub, if it dries out, will it work?????? dang and its maybe a month old...........its a dual receiver.but dang..........sucks

any tips?

if it was in the tub for a long enough time for the water to reach the circuits, yeah its fried if the battery was in it also. If the phone didnt have a battery, you can soak it in water all day and let it dry and it'll work just fine.

If you've only had it a month, it should still have some warranty. Go back to the store where you bought it (make sure it is completely dry first) and tell them that it just stopped working and you have no idea what happened. They should swap it out for you.

Remove the batteries so it won't corrode, then replace them after 3-4 days so the phone has time to dry. You might be ok.

some electronic components can take on water without current and survive..
if the water did not provide a short from the buses and your integrated circuits didn't get hosed...it could still work.

Almost drowned too. the rock I was standing on rolled over and when I fell in it rolled on top of my ankle. If I treaded water fast enough I could keep my head above water. friends sat there laughing at me thinking I was joking. That is until I ran out of steam and almost drowned. And yes I was drunk.

Give it a couple of days to dry out. I knocked my phone in the sink when I was shaving and water ran on it for 2 minutes. It didn't work for a couple of days but the 3rd day it was fine. It did take it apart though and let it dry out. It was one of those cheap ass Nokias. I was getting a new phone anyway so I just wanted to be able to get my numbers more that anything and I got them.

Thats why the batteries need removing, after draining below the normal discharge rate they fail to ever re-charge.
