I just don't have the genetic makeup to be freaky big. Never did. Never will. Never really wanted to. At 5'11"195 pounds, I would be considered skinny but most guys on anabolic message boards.
But something struck me today...
One of the first inspirations to begin bodybuilding began when I saw an ad in a comic book that said: DONT DREAM ABOUT IT...HAVE A BODY MEN ADMIRE AND WOMEN DESIRE! That sounded good to me! Lol It's so cheesy. But then I realized something...
Here I am at 60 years old. I'm in Miami now and get to walk on the beach in the sunshine. I get women checking me out.( my last three girlfriends were younger than my son). Guys come up to me ( not gay) and say stuff like DUDE, youre buffed, youre ripped, how much do you work out?! I had a bunch of tourists want to take a picture with me. I guess I represented the carefree south beach lifestyle! Lol
Anyway, the point is...I guess I really did live the dream. Bodybuilding gave me all I ever wanted and its done so for over 40 years. And sure, steroids helped. But that's the operative word...they HELPED. If it was about doing more gear I guess I could have been a bigger freak. And that may impress the guys in the squat rack. But I'll take my modest accomplishments.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
