I thought the scariness was way overhyped. At times I thought it was kind of boring. To me End of Days was a scarier and better movie.

Overall, I thought the movie was pretty good. I personally like the japanese original much better. I think the girl next to me scarred me more than the movie though. Also jumping and yelling would catch me off guard.
Anyone seen Frailty? In the process of downloading right now. Suppose to be a pretty good movie from what I have heard.

I love seeing people bash The Ring for not being scary.
Personally, it spooked the Hell out of me and I have not been freaked out by a movie in 10 years.
I guess you just have to get into the modd of the movie. It also helps to watch it in an empty theater without little kids screaming every 5 seconds.

It would have been more scary without people screaming so much, then their friends laughing in response. That and being not high/drunk when I saw it. But still, I could see how it could frighten some, it just didnt really scare me.
IMO, 13 Ghosts is at least 2x scarier than The Ring.

IMO it was one of the scariest movies I have seen, ever...but its a different style of scary compared to "13 Ghosts" scary, where shit just pops out all the time and there are loud noises on the soundtrack.
Frailty was a good movie...not really scary per se, but well made.

The only thing scary about End of Days was how awful it was.
If anyone but Arnold played the main role, the movie would have flopped... oh wait... it flopped anyway.
