amsterdam, no because amsterdam has the basement bars that are awesome... It is a different kind of great. Unfortunately it was a long walk in amsterdam to get to the district. But in both places you still need to be aware of your situation no matter how f***ed up you get. You will get rolled if someone thinks there is a chance they can get away with it! I was warned about taking 2 girls in Thailand as they try to steal your money too. Remember no matter how nice they make you feel it is business and you are in their world!!!

Amsterdam was a blast! I loved going there. My brother was in the army back in the 90 and used to go up there every 6 weeks he would hollow out candles and send them to me!

Pattaya had the eel show @ Marlynns. I saw a chick shoot ping pong balls, darts (popped balloons), pick up a stack of quarters, and cut a banana into pieces all with the mysterious vajayjay.

Dood - seriously though - I hate to sound like a nerd here but if you are going to Thailand just to hang out at the gogo bars, you are really missing a great country. Some of the finest restaurants, golf courses, resorts and country side you will ever experience along with a very rich culture.
Go back and read my Thialand guide and try seriously, try to limit your trips to the red light districts to about 2 times a week so you don't get a jaded view of the place.
